This winter, go wild and fill your holiday season with the magic of light. OKC Zoo's Safari Lights features a larger-than-life light display showcasing over 59 wildlife-themed light sculptures viewable on a driving tour through the zoo. Feel the holiday cheer with animated light displays, festive treats, kids activities and weekend visits with Santa. In addition to the drive-thru experience, Safari Lights includes a separate walking experience with interactive light exhibits, musical light performances and lots of other winter magic as guests journey through the zoo’s entry plaza, Children’s Zoo and Dino Safari. To make the ride extra cozy, drive-thru attendees can pre-order hot chocolate and kettle corn, as well as glow items to light the night. The Cherokee National Holiday in Tahlequah celebrates the signing of the Cherokee Nation Constitution in 1839. This annual event is a celebration of Cherokee heritage and cultural awareness. The Cherokee National Holiday attracts visitors from across the United States as well as from around the world. The three-day holiday is full of activities for all ages, from traditional Native American games like cornstalk and blowgun shooting, marbles and stickball to tournaments in sports like basketball and softball. Many other events will take place during the Cherokee National Holiday, including a parade, children's events, a quilt show and a car show. Vendors will be on hand offering authentic Native American products such as food, artwork, pottery, blankets and other unique items. The highlights of the celebration will be the inter-tribal powwows, held on both Friday night and Saturday night.

The Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival will feature traditional arts and crafts, handmade American Indian items on display and sporting tournaments. Visitors will also enjoy a 5K run and walk, as well as softball, basketball, cornhole and volleyball tournaments. The Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival is the place to be this Labor Day weekend. A great way to begin any day of the festival is by visiting the Choctaw Nation Museum. Enjoy a peaceful day in the country at an authentic working sheep farm, located just north of Claremore off Route 66. Filled with family-friendly activities with no scares. Enjoy a tractor-pulled wagon ride on a ramp-loading trailer through the hay meadow. Wagon ride tickets are available for $6.50 per person; 2 and under are free. Wagon rides are every 30 minutes. The Halloween Festival at the Castle of Muskogee The Halloween Festival at the Castle of Muskogee will be open each Friday & Saturday during October 2023. Gates will be open from 5:30pm until 10pm. Outdoor Haunts begin at dark & indoor haunts open after the Monster Dance at 6pm. Ticket sales will end at 10pm. The haunts will stay open after 10pm in order to allow onsite ticket holders to use their remaining haunt tickets.
Create new family memories with a trip to the Country Bumpkin Pumpkin Patch in Bartlesville each fall. Open seasonally from late September through the end of October, the Country Bumpkin is more than just a pumpkin patch. Tucked away in beautiful countryside, visitors will also find a variety of activities for children and adults alike. The Halloween Festival at the Castle of Muskogee The Halloween Festival at the Castle of Muskogee will be open each Friday & Saturday during October 2023. Gates will be open from 5:30pm until 10pm. Outdoor Haunts begin at dark & indoor haunts open after the Monster Dance at 6pm. Ticket sales will end at 10pm. Take a spooky stroll you won't soon forget on the Turkey Mountain Haunted Trails. Enter the ¾-mile-long trail full of twisted cedar, cobwebs, creepy-crawly bugs and gnarled oaks. Guests will experience the trails of this dark walk-through attraction filled with terrifying live actors, fun special effects and ghastly scenes that fully immerse customers into the spooky side of Turkey Mountain. Follow trail guides in small groups through 10-12 scare stations that focus on creating an extremely eerie and spooky atmosphere rather than the gruesome scenes of other haunted houses. Each tour is approximately 30 spine-chilling minutes and begins at Turkey Mountain’s main parking lot. This experience is not recommended for children under 12, the faint of heart or those with mobility issues. This much-loved lights display in Broken Arrow began in 1982 and has been attracting visitors ever since. Claremore Lake Lights will return for the second year! Starting on November 22, residents and visitors can drive through the Claremore Lake Park and experience the Christmas lights and displays from the comfort of their warm vehicle. Lights will begin each night at dusk and remain on until 10:00p.m. through January 6, 2024. The Claremore Lake lights will begin at the Blue Starr Road entrance and displays will be featured throughout the park. Claremore Lake Lights will return for the second year! Starting on November 22, residents and visitors can drive through the Claremore Lake Park and experience the Christmas lights and displays from the comfort of their warm vehicle. Come to this Living Nativity event at Shepherd's Cross, a working farm and Christian mission, to walk through a living, interactive nativity depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Come, take a peaceful stroll back in time and enjoy live character portrayals, including over one hundred costumed participants. Live animals in the nativity scene include sheep, mules, donkeys, chickens, guineas and horses. The animals are housed in a real, working barn, as this event is an indoor nativity. The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse has reunited with the writers and much of the cast of last year’s “Christmas in My Hometown” to present a seasonal variety show entitled “BACP Hometown Holiday Happenings.” Performances are December 8 and 9, 2023 at 7:30 PM and matinees on December 9 and 10, 2023 at 2 PM at the Playhouse located at 1800 S. The show will feature new songs from Scott Brister, who wrote the music for “Christmas in My Hometown.” It also will feature sketches from Steve Cowen, “Christmas in My Hometown” playwright, and Kelley Friedberg, a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, whose plays have been produced at not only the BACP, but also Heller Theatre Company, Blackjack Rewrite Company, and Echo Theatre Company. Thousands of bikers descend upon Tulsa Expo Square every winter just in time for the holidays. During the annual Tulsa Toy Run, bikers donate thousands of toys to help kids celebrate the holiday season. Bikers will take off at Tulsa Expo Square and ride over to Guthrie Green to make their festive donations and gather with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts.
The City of Broken Arrow is hosting a free meet and greets with Santa Claus! Come get your photo taken in the iconic Broken Arrow sleighs with Santa and tell him all about what you want for Christmas. Enjoy the ambiance of the Rose District dressed in the holiday spirit! Theatre Arts Troupe will also be performing during this time. Lines for Santa will be cut off promptly at the end of the event time and those in line will get to meet Santa. We will not take any more guests in line after the cutoff time. For example, if the event ends at 2 pm all guests already in line will get to continue to the meet and greet.

Come to this Living Nativity event at Shepherd's Cross, a working farm and Christian mission, to walk through a living, interactive nativity depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Come, take a peaceful stroll back in time and enjoy live character portrayals, including over one hundred costumed participants. Live animals in the nativity scene include sheep, mules, donkeys, chickens, guineas and horses. The animals are housed in a real, working barn, as this event is an indoor nativity. This year the Living Nativity will feature two drama performances: Elisabeth, the story of Christ’s birth from Elizabeth’s (John the Baptist’s mother) perspective and The Inn Keeper’s Wife, the story of Christ’s birth from the Innkeeper’s Wife’s perspective. These will be offered every hour. Shepherd’s Shop will also be open during the event and will feature farm-fresh pecans, Amish pecan candies, baked goods and hot beverages, as well as festive Christmas and sheep-related gifts. A wide variety of unique Christmas items and handmade items will be available this Christmas season.

The Tulsa Holiday Winter Circuit is held at the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex at Expo Square in Tulsa. This AQHA-approved horse show features a full slate of Western and English events as well as roping and working cowhorse. Also included are the Versatility Ranch Horse classes that showcase the talents of a working ranch horse. Witness traditional Native American dancing at the New Year's Eve Powwow at the Muskogee Civic Center. The powwow kicks off at 1pm with gourd dancing until 5pm, followed by a supper break. Gourd dancing resumes at 6pm, and the grand entry begins at 7pm. Dance contests that will be featured at the New Year's Eve Powwow include fancy dance, straight dance, jingle dress and fancy shawl.
