OKC Zoo Safari Lights

January 1, 2023

This winter, go wild and fill your holiday season with the magic of light. OKC Zoo's Safari Lights features a larger-than-life light display showcasing over 59 wildlife-themed light sculptures viewable on a driving tour through the zoo. Feel the holiday cheer with animated light displays, festive treats, kids activities and weekend visits with Santa. In addition to the drive-thru experience, Safari Lights includes a separate walking experience with interactive light exhibits, musical light performances and lots of other winter magic as guests journey through the zoo’s entry plaza, Children’s Zoo and Dino Safari. To make the ride extra cozy, drive-thru attendees can pre-order hot chocolate and kettle corn, as well as glow items to light the night. Items must be purchased in advance and will be distributed at the drive-thru check-in location. Please note: Online reservations are required. City of Owasso Community Egg Hunt Pathway Church is Egg-cited to present the 2nd Annual City of Owasso Egg Hunt at Rayola Park. 10,000 eggs will be scattered across the park with the hunt divided into age groups. Age appropriate prizes and safety measures will be in place. There will be special prize eggs for each age group, and the Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos!

Come to the Grand River Dam to watch the spectacular Grand Lake Fireworks in Disney. Spend the day taking in the sights, take a tour of the dam, swim, camp and enjoy the lake by boat. At dusk, make your way to Cherokee Area at Grand Lake State Park and enjoy this free fireworks show over the lake. Grand Lake Fireworks will take place between the two spillways on the Grand River Dam on Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, and the Grand River Dam parking lot at Langley will be open for people to park and enjoy the show.

Independence Day Fireworks In Eufaula

The city of Eufaula holds its July 4th fireworks celebrations from 8 P.M. to 9 P.M. The event is free to attend. It provides the best way to celebrate our nation's freedom. You can watch the fireworks from either land or on a boat in the lake. The celebration is organized by the Eufaula Area Chamber of Commerce Freedom Celebration. This year it will begin on Saturday, July 3rd, and extend for the whole weekend. Besides the colorful fireworks, there are plenty of other activities for the whole family to enjoy, starting with the fun run at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park on Saturday at 7 A.M.It is a great way to spend quality time with family and friends as we commemorate the day our country gained independence. There are many more exciting things to do around Lake Eufaula on July 4th weekend. You can visit the nearby museums, local galleries, and landmarks with your family during the day. Folds of Honor FreedomFest in Tulsa

July 4, 2023

Folds of Honor FreedomFest in Tulsa Visible for miles around, an estimated 80,000 spectators enjoy the view of the Folds of Honor FreedomFest presented by QuikTrip Corporation from Dream Keepers Park, River West Festival Park and along the Arkansas River including the Gathering Place. Spectators can experience the full effect of this patriotic celebration by tuning into radio sponsor KRMG (740 AM & 102.3 FM) during the display to listen to the accompanying musical score. Scenic Tulsa’s River Parks along the Arkansas River is a perfect place for family picnics, live music by local bands, and kids' activities. With three stages along the river, face painting, inflatables, and food, the FreedomFest has plenty of entertainment. It also boasts one of the largest free fireworks displays in Oklahoma. Boomfest at Oklahoma Aquarium

Looking for the best view of the Jenks Boomfest fireworks show? Look no further than the Oklahoma Aquarium! Our riverfront backyard offers a front-row seat to the most dazzling Fourth of July display in the area. Visit the cool exhibits indoors, then head outside to watch the fireworks. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no outside food or coolers, please. Food truck and beverage options will be available, or you can grab a bite at our Coral Reef Café! Members are free; non-members pay general admission rates. Parking is available for $10/car. The last tickets are sold at 8:30 p.m., and all aquarium exhibits close at 9 p.m.

Cherokee National Holiday

September 1-3, 2023

The Cherokee National Holiday in Tahlequah celebrates the signing of the Cherokee Nation Constitution in 1839. This annual event is a celebration of Cherokee heritage and cultural awareness. The Cherokee National Holiday attracts visitors from across the United States as well as from around the world. The three-day holiday is full of activities for all ages, from traditional Native American games like cornstalk and blowgun shooting, marbles and stickball to tournaments in sports like basketball and softball. Many other events will take place during the Cherokee National Holiday, including a parade, children's events, a quilt show and a car show. Vendors will be on hand offering authentic Native American products such as food, artwork, pottery, blankets and other unique items. The highlights of the celebration will be the inter-tribal powwows, held on both Friday night and Saturday night.

Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival

September 1-3, 2023

The Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival will feature traditional arts and crafts, handmade American Indian items on display and sporting tournaments. Visitors will also enjoy a 5K run and walk, as well as softball, basketball, cornhole and volleyball tournaments. The Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival is the place to be this Labor Day weekend. A great way to begin any day of the festival is by visiting the Choctaw Nation Museum. The museum holds many historical artifacts and information about the Choctaw culture and past, including actual objects that were carried across the Trail of Tears and interactive exhibits.

The Hex House

Pumpkin Town Farms

Come on down to Pumpkin Town Farms in Tulsa for an array of family-friendly fall activities. At this family-owned pumpkin patch and five-acre maze, you'll find various sizes of pumpkins, gourds and squash as well as hay and cornstalks. Families will have a blast at Pumpkin Town Farms, where they can enjoy a corn maze, giant slide rides, two trains, a giant jumping pillow, petting zoo, treasure dig, tire swing carousel, tiny town, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin checkers, face painting, and so much more. Pumpkin Town Farms also offers pony and camel rides, a pumpkin blaster, critter paintball and a horse-drawn hayride (Friday-Sunday only).

Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd's Cross & Heart of the Shepherd

Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd’s Cross & Heart of the Shepherd September 26 – November 4, 2023 Tuesday – Saturday 9:00 am - 6:30 pm Open Monday, October 30th Join Shepherd’s Cross and Heart of the Shepherd for their annual Pumpkin Festival. Enjoy a peaceful day in the country at an authentic working sheep farm, located just north of Claremore off Route 66. Filled with family-friendly activities with no scares. Loads of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, and colors for purchase, starting at $1.50 each. Admission and parking are free. The only pay-for activity is the Wagon Ride. Enjoy a tractor-pulled wagon ride on a ramp-loading trailer through the hay meadow. Wagon ride tickets are available for $6.50 per person; 2 and under are free. Wagon rides are every 30 minutes. There are over 60 free activities to enjoy on the farm. Explore the walk-through Pumpkin Patch with Hay Maze and Game Area. Pet sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, and alpacas in the Farm Animal Barn petting area. Walk the Bible Garden and see pumpkins growing on the vine surrounded by sunflowers and fall flowers. All new this year is our QR Code Scavenger Hunt. Look around the farm for QR codes to scan and watch short videos about farming and shepherding. Pumpkin Packages are available to purchase, which include a pumpkin (size of pumpkin varies with type of package), wagon ride, and a take-home craft or bring some old clothes to make your own scarecrow. Packages start at $9.50 per person. Inside the Amish-built barn browse the gift shop with handmade décor, gifts, and wares from 60 local consignors as well as local honey, meat, and eggs; explore the Farm Museum and Silo with the all new animated Percy the Perfect Pumpkin story time, and watch fiber demonstrations in the Wool Mill. There are modern indoor restrooms. Shepherd’s Cross is an accredited Agritourism facility, a Made in Oklahoma Company, and a Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Animal Welfare Approved farm. Heart of the Shepherd is the non-profit organization (501-C3) that operates at the farm. Heart of the Shepherd teaches Biblical references to the harvest, the animals, farming, and gardening. Because of their generosity, admission to Pumpkin Festival is free and operates by donations. Suggested donation is $5 per person; suggested, not required. All donations benefit Heart of the Shepherd’s international and local mission outreach programs.

Let the little ones discover and learn in the play area's play kitchen and garden shed, water pump duck races and more. Test your skills in the corn maze or find your way through a panel maze. Go on a tractor-pulled hayride, make a “corn angel” in the kernel bin and pick up goodies at the gift shop. Stop by the Snack Shack for a yummy caramel apple and hot cider or simply relax around the fire pit and roast your own marshmallows for a tasty s'more treat. The Country Bumpkin Pumpkin Patch also has barrel train rides, slides, and tons of games. Climb up the round bale tower, launch a pumpkin or two and don’t forget to take the perfect pumpkin home to remember your fun day spent on the farm.

The Patch at Glenpool

Dickens on the Boulevard

Celebrate the holidays at Dickens on the Boulevard, a Victorian-themed festival in historic downtown Claremore. During this two-day November event, visitors will enjoy live stage entertainment, food, pictures with Santa and much more. A Victorian street dance will be hosted both nights, as well as historic reenactments with plenty of Western-themed action. Stop by living history window displays peppering the downtown area and learn about life in the Victorian era while reenactors portray blacksmiths, spinners, wood carvers and potters. Browse festive shops and decorated boutiques or enjoy a Christmas-themed wagon ride throughout town. Be sure to see the living nativity, participate in the costume contest and enjoy the Victorian food court with items like stew, beans, cornbread and cobbler. 

Turkey Mountain Haunted Trails & Fall Festival

October 19-21, 2023 | 7:30 - 10:30 p.m.

Take a spooky stroll you won't soon forget on the Turkey Mountain Haunted Trails. Enter the ¾-mile-long trail full of twisted cedar, cobwebs, creepy-crawly bugs and gnarled oaks. Guests will experience the trails of this dark walk-through attraction filled with terrifying live actors, fun special effects and ghastly scenes that fully immerse customers into the spooky side of Turkey Mountain. Follow trail guides in small groups through 10-12 scare stations that focus on creating an extremely eerie and spooky atmosphere rather than the gruesome scenes of other haunted houses. Each tour is approximately 30 spine-chilling minutes and begins at Turkey Mountain’s main parking lot. This experience is not recommended for children under 12, the faint of heart or those with mobility issues. In addition to the Haunted Trails, this year's event will include a non-spooky fall festival for younger participants. The festival will include a petting zoo, bounce houses, carnival games and other family-friendly activities. Whether you prefer shocks and scares or fall carnival fun, there is something for everyone at Turkey Mountain this October.

In the fall of 2022, the group performed in more than 60 cities across the US with multiple sold-out shows, including their 26th consecutive sell-out in Indianapolis. Their holiday-themed “Sleighing’ It Tour” is coming to the Chapman Music Hall stage!

Boare’s Heade Feaste

Fantasty Land on Foot

This event allows guests to get out of their cars and walk through the winter wonderland of intricate animatronics and dazzling light displays at their own pace. See incredible displays that honor the history of Bartlesville like the Bartles Mill, a 24-feet tall working water wheel with a running stream. Rhema Christmas Lights

Join thousands of annual visitors at the Rhema Christmas Lights and witness over three million shimmering lights synchronized to Christmas music across 110 acres. This much-loved lights display in Broken Arrow began in 1982 and has been attracting visitors ever since. Experience the wonder of illuminated festive figures like a gingerbread family with lollipops and gumdrops, Noah's ark with animals, 3D angels and reindeer, a Christmas tree forest, a 50-figure nativity scene and more. Visitors to the Rhema Christmas Lights can drive through the lights in their own vehicle, get out of the car and walk around the park, or view the spectacular displays from a horse-drawn carriage. Don't miss the Rhema Park bridge, complete with over 90,000 lights draped across the bridge alone. Synchronized to both classic and modern Christmas music, these lights have delighted visitors of all ages. While there, enjoy concessions that include cups of hot chocolate, piping hot coffee or sweet apple cider while venturing into the displays. Popcorn, funnel cakes and other treats will also be available. Admission to Rhema Christmas Lights is free; however, donations are appreciated.

Claremore Lake Lights

Claremore Lake Lights will return for the second year! Starting on November 22, residents and visitors can drive through the Claremore Lake Park and experience the Christmas lights and displays from the comfort of their warm vehicle. Lights will begin each night at dusk and remain on until 10:00p.m. through January 6, 2024. The Claremore Lake lights will begin at the Blue Starr Road entrance and displays will be featured throughout the park. Multiple photo opportunities will be available and visitors are encouraged to use the hashtag #ClaremoreLakeLights on social media to capture and share memories! There is no cost to enjoy the Claremore Lake Light display.

Lights On Utica Square

Garden of Lights

Experience animated displays and over 1.2 million shimmering lights at Muskogee's annual Garden of Lights. Drive through Honor Heights Park and view 130 acres of trees, bushes and water areas decorated for the holiday season. Rose and azalea bushes will be illuminated with color, imitating their natural state during the blooming of spring. This Christmas light display will also feature lighted displays of deer, squirrels and birds scattered amongst a wide variety of trees wrapped in lights.

Bixby Historical Society Festival of the Trees

The Bixby Historical Society Festival of the Trees opens Thursday November 23rd. The Lighting ceremony starts at 5:00pm with lights on at 6:00pm. There will be activities for all including hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows. Santa will be there to visit with children of all ages. We will be lighting up over 120 Christmas trees synchronized to over 15 songs. the trees will stay lite every night through the season and Santa will be there every Thursday through Sunday nights. Stay around after the race and enjoy the downtown Tulsa Winterfest celebration. Course is a great downtown Tulsa course, starting and finishing right at the giant Christmas Tree at the BOK Center. The Tulsa Botanic Garden of Lights is a favorite event during the holiday season. This year’s Christmas lights display is bigger and better than ever. With over a million lights on display, the garden is transformed into a winter wonderland that will delight visitors of all ages. Living Nativity at Shepherd’s Cross

Come to this Living Nativity event at Shepherd's Cross, a working farm and Christian mission, to walk through a living, interactive nativity depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Come, take a peaceful stroll back in time and enjoy live character portrayals, including over one hundred costumed participants. Live animals in the nativity scene include sheep, mules, donkeys, chickens, guineas and horses. The animals are housed in a real, working barn, as this event is an indoor nativity. This year the Living Nativity will feature two drama performances: Elisabeth, the story of Christ’s birth from Elizabeth’s (John the Baptist’s mother) perspective and The Inn Keeper’s Wife, the story of Christ’s birth from the Innkeeper’s Wife’s perspective. These will be offered every hour. Shepherd’s Shop will also be open during the event and will feature farm-fresh pecans, Amish pecan candies, baked goods and hot beverages, as well as festive Christmas and sheep-related gifts. The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse Proudly Presents Hometown Holiday Happenings

The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse has reunited with the writers and much of the cast of last year’s “Christmas in My Hometown” to present a seasonal variety show entitled “BACP Hometown Holiday Happenings.” Performances are December 8 and 9, 2023 at 7:30 PM and matinees on December 9 and 10, 2023 at 2 PM at the Playhouse located at 1800 S. Main Street in Broken Arrow. Patterned after a television Christmas special from yesteryear, a la Andy Williams, Bing Crosby and Dean Martin, “Hometown Holiday Happenings” pays tribute to December’s seasonal holidays of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa through music and sketches – both comedic and heart touching. The show will feature new songs from Scott Brister, who wrote the music for “Christmas in My Hometown.” It also will feature sketches from Steve Cowen, “Christmas in My Hometown” playwright, and Kelley Friedberg, a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, whose plays have been produced at not only the BACP, but also Heller Theatre Company, Blackjack Rewrite Company, and Echo Theatre Company. AND, there will be an audience sing-along with ukulele accompaniment. Featured entertainment includes some solo artists, vocal choirs, a bell choir, the Main Street Players and the ukulele group from the BA Senior Center. The City of Broken Arrow is excited to partner with Autism Oklahoma once again to host an event exclusively for neurodiverse individuals. During this time, a sensitive Santa will be available for pictures. There will also be various vendors from local companies that specialize in children and adults with special needs giving out information and providing activities. This event provides an opportunity for neurodiverse individuals to enjoy the magic of the holidays in the Rose District in a safe and controlled environment.

Tulsa Holiday Winter Circuit

The Tulsa Holiday Winter Circuit is held at the Built Ford Tough Livestock Complex at Expo Square in Tulsa. This AQHA-approved horse show features a full slate of Western and English events as well as roping and working cowhorse. Also included are the Versatility Ranch Horse classes that showcase the talents of a working ranch horse. Watch the graceful, well-groomed horses and talented riders as they display their abilities for the crowds.

Race Into the New Year

Start 2024 off on the right foot during the Race Into the New Year event at Tulsa's River West Festival Park. This is a fun, safe and family-oriented way to ring in the new decade. Participants can choose from a one-mile fun run or a more challenging 5K. Grab a party hat and a noisemaker and enjoy live music, champagne and a grand finale of fireworks at the stroke of midnight. Runners will not go home hungry, as there will be black-eyed peas, cornbread, cookies and other delectable treats.

New Years’ Eve Powwow

Witness traditional Native American dancing at the New Year's Eve Powwow at the Muskogee Civic Center. The powwow kicks off at 1pm with gourd dancing until 5pm, followed by a supper break. Gourd dancing resumes at 6pm, and the grand entry begins at 7pm. Dance contests that will be featured at the New Year's Eve Powwow include fancy dance, straight dance, jingle dress and fancy shawl. Browse rows of arts and crafts vendors and encourage the kids to enter the Legacy Kid's Art Contest.
