Skate under the festive twinkle lights at Broken Arrow's only outdoor skating rink. Bring your ice skates or rent them directly on-site and glide across the ice under the pavilion at the Rose District Plaza. Bring the whole family out to create new holiday memories at this fun attraction, which opens before Thanksgiving and runs through the New Year. Green Country Film Festival

January 12-14, 2024

Take part in the celebration of creativity during the inaugural Green County Film Festival at the Canebrake in Wagoner. This three-day event kicks off on January 12th with a VIP party followed by a public showing of "Election" by Alexander Payne. Book a room and stay overnight to be close to the action and come back Saturday and Sunday for screenings of compelling documentaries, feature films, and short films at two different locations on the scenic Canebrake campus. Second Saturday Architecture Tour: Spotlight Theatre, A Bruce Goff Icon

Take a fun and educational walking tour through downtown Tulsa and other historical local sites during Second Saturday Architecture Tours, hosted by the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture. These monthly walking tours will give you an insightful look into the exciting architecture and prestigious collections that you may pass by every day. Sites include Tulsa's various Art Deco buildings, The Church Studio, the Blue Dome District, America's Crossroads in Sapulpa and much more. The first Second Saturday tour of the year will highlight the Spotlight Theater. The Bruce Goff-designed studio is full of architectural brilliance that tells captivating stories. You will enjoy a 20-minute presentation by the theater's board president followed by a guided walk through the building's spaces that are not usually open to the public.

The Blinding of Isaac Woodward

Step back in time and gain a deeper understanding of history at the Woody Guthrie Center with our exclusive screening of the PBS American Experience documentary, “The Blinding of Isaac Woodard.” This event is a poignant addition to the programming for the “Billie Holiday at Sugar Hill: Photos by Jerry Dantzic” exhibit, as both Woody Guthrie and Billie Holiday performed at the benefit concert for Isaac Woodard after his attack. Explore the powerful story and the civil rights struggle through this remarkable documentary, which sheds light on a dark chapter in American history. This event is part of our programming for the “Billie Holiday at Sugar Hill: Photos by Jerry Dantzic” exhibit.

The Music of Elton John & Billy Joel Starring Michael Cavanaugh

Michael Cavanaugh is the new voice of the American Rock & Roll Songbook and a charismatic performer and musician made famous for his piano/lead vocals in the Broadway musical “Movin’ Out.” Handpicked by Billy Joel to star in “Movin’ Out,” Cavanaugh evokes a style rivaling the Piano Man. He appeared in the show for three years with over 1,200 performances and received multiple accolades. His interpretation of the modern rock/pop songbook led to Billboard calling him “The New Voice of the American Rock and Roll Songbook,” and he was recognized by Reuters as Entertainer of the Year for the private events market.

Mad Dog Demolition Derby 

January 20, 2024 | 6 - 10:30 p.m.

It is not just any Demolition Derby, it’s the Mad Dog Demolition Derby at the Claremore Expo!  Come see the metal crushing car-smashing hero’s of the Mad Dog Demolition Derby Tour doing battle inside the Claremore Expo Indoor Heated Arena.  During this event, you will see mini car derby and full-size derby Mayhem.  It is an exciting day full of destruction that you, your friends, and your family will want to race to attend!  Doors open at 5pm and the show will begin at 6pm.  Seating is general admission but tickets sell fast so we encourage you to purchase your tickets early!  Advanced tickets are $20 for Adults and $14 for kids (11 and Under).  Ticket prices will increase by $4 on the day of the show and pit Passes will only be available on the day of the show for $25.  This is a great event for the whole family to attend.  Please visit the website for more information or to purchase advanced tickets.

Paleontology In The Library

The OSU-Tulsa Library has partnered with the OSU-CHS Anatomy and Vertebrate Paleontology Department for this exciting exhibit highlighting research and discoveries of OSU students and faculty from right here in Tulsa! Stop by to see dinosaur vertebrae, fossil casts, 3D skulls and tools used in the lab and field work. Mania – the ABBA Tribute

Broadway in Bartlesville Presents: Mean Girls

Winter Barn Sale

The Winter Barn Sale is a huge, multi-family garage sale of donated articles including appliances, antiques, farming items, furniture, wall décor, housewares, DVDs, farm and garden items, children’s games and toys, home decorator items, bedding, office supplies, books, and collectibles, as well as clothing for the entire family. Sale is indoors and heated. Free cider and hot beverages will be available. Sale benefits Farming Missions, Starter Flocks, and Wool Mills in remote locations around the world. Locally, the sale benefits Rural Veterinary Outreach and Baby Blessing Bags. 100% of funds from the barn sale will go directly towards these projects. Monetary donations towards these missions are greatly appreciated. A tax-deductible receipt is provided upon request.

Tulsa Spirit Fair

We are excited to announce that the Junior Women’s Association (JWA) of the Tulsa Boys’ Home is bringing back their signature fundraising event, their annual Buttercup Bash. This is a cocktail charity gala to be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 6:30pm at the John L. Rucker Warehouse (1227 S. Detroit Ave., Tulsa, OK 74120). Complimentary valet parking will be available. This is a cocktail attire event and the theme this year is “Bringing Back the 90’s”, so dust off your denim tuxedo, go find your platforms and get ready to party like it's 1999. The gala will include delicious local cuisines, casino games, dancing and a silent auction. Tickets are $100 per person & $175 for couples. There are also sponsorship opportunities available. Sister Act, A Dive Musical Comedy is written by Sheri and Bill Steinkellner and Douglas Carter Beane. Music by Alan Menken and Lyrics by Glenn Slater the musical is based off the 1992 starring Whoopi Goldberg abs tell the story of disco club singer in the late 1970’s, Deloris Van Cartier played by Mikaela Scott is placed in protective custody in a dying convent, her unique brand of funk comes face-to-face with the traditions of the church and the strict order is in for a change," reads a Sister Act press release. "Masquerading as a nun named Mary Clarence, this sister's act will have you laughing and singing in the aisles." Nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The musical is being produced by special arrangement by Music Theatre International. Joining Scott in the cast are Valentine Tarpley as Mother Superior, Brayden Marchant as Curtis, the mobster, Von Love as cop Eddie, Ashtyn Marshall as Sister Mary Patrick, Amanda Yarberry as Sister Mary Robert, Samantha Kennedy as Sister Mary Lazarus, Jenna Soltis as Sister Mary Theresa, Jillian Mohn as Sister Mary of Tours and guest artist, Mark LeHoullier as the Monsignor O’Hara. Playing the Pope is guest artist surprise. Also appearing in the ensemble playing numerous roles are Ana Nunez playing a dual role of Sister Mary Peer and Pablo, Canyon Garner as TJ, Touna Vue as Ernie, Adam Morgan as Joey, Aaliyah Morris as Tina, Sydney Greena as Michelle, Conner Griffin and Dominic Diamond as police officers. SISTER ACT, A DIVINE MUSICAL COMEDY OPENS RUN FEBRUARY 29TH AT TULSA COMMUNITY COLLEGE Tulsa Community College Theatre and Music Departments will present Sister Act, A Divine Musical Comedy in the PACE Studio Theatre February 29-March 2nd at 8pm and March 3rd at 2pm on the campus of Tulsa Community College Southeast. Sister Act, A Dive Musical Comedy is written by Sheri and Bill Steinkellner and Douglas Carter Beane. Music by Alan Menken and Lyrics by Glenn Slater the musical is based off the 1992 starring Whoopi Goldberg abs tell the story of disco club singer in the late 1970’s, Deloris Van Cartier played by Mikaela Scott is placed in protective custody in a dying convent, her unique brand of funk comes face-to-face with the traditions of the church and the strict order is in for a change," reads a Sister Act press release. "Masquerading as a nun named Mary Clarence, this sister's act will have you laughing and singing in the aisles." Nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The musical is being produced by special arrangement by Music Theatre International. Joining Scott in the cast are Valentine Tarpley as Mother Superior, Brayden Marchant as Curtis, the mobster, Von Love as cop Eddie, Ashtyn Marshall as Sister Mary Patrick, Amanda Yarberry as Sister Mary Robert, Samantha Kennedy as Sister Mary Lazarus, Jenna Soltis as Sister Mary Theresa, Jillian Mohn as Sister Mary of Tours and guest artist, Mark LeHoullier as the Monsignor O’Hara. Playing the Pope is guest artist surprise. Also appearing in the ensemble playing numerous roles are Ana Nunez playing a dual role of Sister Mary Peer and Pablo, Canyon Garner as TJ, Touna Vue as Ernie, Adam Morgan as Joey, Aaliyah Morris as Tina, Sydney Greena as Michelle, Conner Griffin and Dominic Diamond as police officers. Playing other nuns are Moriah Jestus as Sister Mary Smiles, Natalie Curtis as Sister Mary Frolic, Nicole Brookman as Sister Mary Wary, Becky Hankins as Sister Mary Graceless and Sydney Greeno as Sister Mary Tattle. Gloria is a Harvard MBA recently transplanted to this rural backwater from New York and is a volunteer from hospice who has been sent to the rustic cabin to take care of Grace during her waning time. Although Grace is 90, she is a formidable barrier to Gloria’s good intentions. The BACP is pleased to welcome back award-winning director Martha Cherbini for this show. Tulsa Community College Theatre presents original play, After Olive April 25-28 Tulsa Community College Theatre will present an original play, After Olive written by Bee Johnson April 25-27th at 8pm and April 28th at 2pm in the PACE Studio Theatre on the TCC Southeast Campus. Bee Johnson is currently a film student at Columbia University in Chicago. She attended TCC from 2020-2022 and wrote After Olive as a screen play in Scriptwriting class. TCC chose the original script for its 2023-2024 theatre season and adapted it into a stage play. The story is about a young woman, Olive played by Valentine Tarpley who dying of a mysterious disease decides to spend her last week and a half in the company of her friend, the captain, played by Brayden Marchant and finally leave the island that she has lived on her whole life to explore the mainland in the brief time she has left. Also appearing in the play is Ana Nunez, Jillian Mohn, Allie Newton, Emily Bruegger, Brenen Hankins, Gavin Boudreaux, and Aspen Marshall. The production stage manager is Jenna Soltis and the assistant stage manager is Canyon Garner. The play is student designed with Jenna Soltis designing sound, Alex Ryals designing lights, Moriah Jestus designing set and properties and Melanie Torres Cordero designing costumes. Mark Frank is directing the play with Aaron Kennedy and Emily Westerfield serving as faculty advisors. Randall Pike is the technical director with Aaron Kennedy designing projections. The play is an associate entry for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Region VI.

Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa Dog Show

At the Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa Dog Show, a variety of breeds will take to the Tulsa Expo Square floor to compete for Best of Show at this American Kennel Club sanctioned all-breed show. Watch well-groomed canines perform a series of routines and commands at this local dog show and see which pets come out on top. From four-month-old puppies and veteran dogs to French bulldogs and Irish Setters, guests can see a wide variety of trained pets compete at the Mid-Continent Kennel Club of Tulsa Dog Show.

The Rubber Chicken Factory Improvisational Comedy Troupe

The Rubber Chicken Factory Improv Troupe Returns April 29th at TCC TCC Theatre presents, The Rubber Chicken Factory Improvisational Comedy Show, Monday, April 29th at 7pm at Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus PACE Studio Theatre at 7pm. The event is free to the public. Seating is limited. The Rubber Chicken Factory has been entertaining audiences since 1995. The Improvisational Comedy Troupe performs live audience participation improvisational "on the spot" comedy which consists of short form improv games with suggestions from the audience. Thorns & Roses Ghost Walk

Starlight Series: “A Certain Kind of Swing”

Starlight Concert's 78th season opener is on Tuesday, June 4 at 8:00 p.m. The Starlight Jazz Orchestra will present "A Certain Kind of Swing". The Starlight Band is not only one of Oklahoma’s oldest performing institutions, it’s also Oklahoma’s only professional concert band, and is proud to be one of the oldest in the nation, in league with Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, and New York City. Today’s Starlight Band boasts up to 50 musicians from Signature Symphony, Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, and Bartlesville Symphony, as well as music educators from area schools and universities, both active and retired. Approximately 20 outstanding jazz musicians make up the Starlight Jazz Orchestra, and over the years our conductors have included such local legends as George Brite, Jimmie Saied, and L. Dale Barnett.

TCC Children’s Summer Theatre Presents Auditions for Seussical, The Musical Auditions for the Tulsa Community College’s Children’s Summer Theatre production of Seussical, The Musical will be held on June 8 and 9th from 1-4pm and callbacks and new auditioners on June 15th from 1-4pm at the Pace Studio Theatre at TCC Southeast Campus. There is NO cost to audition or to be in the production. Auditioners can arrive anytime between 1-4pm on any day. Casting ages 6-17 years of age. Everyone must sing and read from the script. Audition requirements 16-32 bars of a Disney song preferably with piano sheet music in a binder– an accompanist will be provided. No acapella please. Bass Reeves Western History Conference

Bass Reeves was the first African-American to be commissioned as a U.S. Deputy Marshal west of the Mississippi River. After Oklahoma gained statehood in 1907, Jim Crow laws prevented him from continuing as a deputy marshal, and he joined the Muskogee Police Department. This event is ticketed and includes territorial re-enactors, special speakers, interactive tours, documentaries, contests, food, and fun.
