The Jenks Herb & Plant Festival takes place Saturday, April 27, 2019, in downtown Jenks from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The Jenks Herb & Plant Festival is widely anticipated as the official signal of the start of spring. The fun begins at 8 a.m. and goes ‘til 4 p.m. in the heart of downtown Jenks. Main Street literally turns green from the long line of booths brimming over with hundreds of varieties of herbs, vegetables, (especially tomatoes) flowers, shrubs, trees and all the essentials to get your garden growing. Many new vendors have been added this year as they discovered the Jenks Herb & Plant Festival for the first time via Facebook and jenksgardenclub.com; as a result they are bringing their beautiful and inventive creations to the festival.
Need help with what to plant where? The ever helpful Tulsa County Master Gardeners are present to share their extensive knowledge and experience. Come hungry for a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast. The Kiwanians start flipping pancakes at 7 a.m. and go until 10 a.m., just a short block up Main street at First Methodist Church. A variety of festival food vendors are available for hungry shoppers who will be able to enjoy a quiet place to relax amid the greenery and benches of the beautiful Jenks park at 2nd & “A” streets called “The Jenks Commons.” Children are in for hands-on fun in the First Planting experience booth with the Jenks Fire Truck tours nearby.
