For all your flag and banner needs, WaveOn Flags & Banners in Langley, Okla. is the place to call. WaveOn provides custom appliqué flags and banners of all sizes, made specifically for the client using their logo or design, as well as custom decals, lettering, signs and shirts. They also offer American, military and state flags available for purchase.
“What we do here is truly an art form,” says owner Devone Chezem. Appliqué is the process of taking a design, creating a pattern from that design, cutting the pattern out of nylon, and sewing it onto the flag or banner background. Great attention is paid to every single detail of the design. “The end result is a beautiful, hand-sewn flag or banner made with the highest quality materials for you to proudly display,” says Devone. “The details in the stitching will amaze you.” All nylon threads used are 100 percent made in the USA.
The company, formerly known as Angie’s Grand Flags, has been in business for 20 years. Last November, Devone purchased the company after working in fundraising and damage assessment for the American Red Cross for six years. “Helping people who have lost everything after a tornado or a fire is very personal work that fulfills your soul. I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I wanted to find something that matched that feeling,” says Devone. “What we do at WaveOn does just that. When a client orders a banner with their family crest, or a veteran orders a personal Marine Corps battalion flag, it is personal to them and they feel very strongly about it. It is so rewarding to provide meaningful, customized products to clients who will cherish them for years. What you fly over your home or business reflects who you are and what you’re all about, and people take that seriously. Client interaction is my favorite part of the job.”
The services WaveOn offers are unique, and they’re different from similar type companies because everything is manufactured onsite in their Langley facility. Employees include Lucy Duwel (who began working for the company when it opened in 1994), Rhonda Hinton, and Tina Hastings. Devone manages operations along with her sister-in-law, Jan Chezem.
“Our goal is to always provide the highest quality product. When clients bring us a design or idea, we work closely with them to ensure that they know what we can realistically do and their expectations are met. We want their flag or banner to be exactly as they had imagined it.”
WaveOn offers nearly any size – anywhere from 3” by 5” or 12” by 18” flags for your boat or motorcycle to 30’ by 20’ highway flags. Former clients include 97.5 KMOD, Arrowhead Yacht Club and countless individuals decorating their homes, small businesses, decks and boats. They also provide vinyl lettering for storefront windows, vehicles and boats, as well as metal and aluminum yard signs. You can stop into the facility and purchase scrap nylon materials for quilts or other personal creations.
