Christmas at the Belvidere is a beloved tradition celebrated at the Belvidere Mansion.
The holidays are all about tradition, and there are three traditions gaining popularity at the Belvidere Mansion: the annual Holiday Tea, the annual Holiday Home Tour and Christmas at the Belvidere Mansion.
The Holiday Tea party will take place on Saturday November 19th, 2016 at the Belvidere Mansion at 4:00 p.m. This event corresponds with the annual Dickens on the Boulevard event in Downtown Claremore just two blocks away.
“This event can be as simple or lavish as you desire,” said Patrick Deaver, Executive Director of the Belvidere Mansion and President of the Rogers County Historical Society. “Many of our returning patrons return each year dressing up in style for a traditional English tea. They soon depart to the Dickens on the Boulevard in customary dress. But, you don’t have to dress up in costume to participate. We invite you to come as you as you are and enjoy a traditional tea service with your friends and loved ones.”
The cost for Holiday Tea is $25 per person and includes tea and choices of assorted goodies and desserts.
Christmas at the Belvidere is another tradition loved by all. Starting November 1st and running through Christmas day, you can tour the perfectly decorated halls and rooms of the three-story, historic Belvidere Mansion decorated for Christmas by The Cozy Cottage. The decoration is being done by The Cozy Cottage. Members of the Christmas at the Belvidere event committee invite you to enjoy an elegant stroll through sparkles and bobbles and times of Christmas splendor. Let memories of your own Christmas traditions rush through your soul as wel as goodies and perfect Christmas gifts for your special friends, family and co-workers.
And last, but certainly not least, you can bring a group of your favorite folks to the Christmas Home Tour on December 3 from 10 to 4 p.m. The cost for this event is $10 per person. You’ll get a sneak peak at your favorite homes in Claremore creatively decorated for the holidays. The list of homes continues to grow each day. “Last year’s events were such a success,” said Christa Rice, committee member. “We’ve been hard at work making sure this year is better than ever at helping our neighbors build traditions while preserving historic masterpieces like the Belvidere Mansion for years to come.”
Community members have been hard at work to insure this year’s holiday celebrations are bigger and better than ever. Committee members include Patrick Deaver, Morgan Williams, Sandy Coy, Hoytanna Binegar, Kathy Wilken, Linda Tedder, Bobbie& John Cary, Fran Jones, Elise Gabriel, Nikie Delperdang, Anita Wolf, Mark Reed, Christa Rice and Melissa Grubb.
