A Christmas Peace

By: Jim Grisham | Category: In Our Communities | Issue: November 2021

Christmas Dinner Theater is a 30-year tradition at South Tulsa Baptist Church. Guests enter the Commons to the sounds of lovely Christmas music performed by the Adult Handbell Choir. They then move into the transformed gym to enjoy an elegant, candlelight dinner in a festive atmosphere followed by a musical the whole family will enjoy.

This year’s Broadway-style production, A Christmas Peace, is an original work written by a South Tulsa Baptist Church member, Judy Disch.  The music is composed and arranged by Andrew Harper and Sarah (Stephens) Harper.  A Christmas Peace tells the story of how we can have peace in the midst of financial and family struggles. It reminds us that the only way to have peace is through a relationship with the Prince of Peace.

As a community service Tuesday night,  a special performance including the meal is provided free of charge to various organizations such as Tulsa Boys Home, HOW Foundation, Salvation Army and Tulsa Day Center.

Performances are Dec. 2-4, 2021, 7 p.m. with a free matinee Saturday, Dec. 4 at 1:30 p.m. Reserved Seating Only. Tickets for the evening performance/dinner are $15 per person. Tables on the main floor seat nine, balcony tables seat four. Tickets will go on sale Nov. 7 at the South Tulsa Baptist Church website: SouthTulsa.org/CDT; or call the church office at (918) 299-0904 to purchase tickets.
