Tim, Lisa, Brittany and Josh Powers welcome you to Diamond P Lawn & Garden.
While many kids complain about having to mow the yard, J.W. Powers and wife Linda have a willing helper in their grandson Josh, 7. As the owners of Diamond P Lawn & Garden, they also have no problem getting the display tractors around the lot. “The little fella is the real boss around here,” laughs his grandmother. The Powers family has made it their business to offer the equipment you need to make caring for your property a breeze.
J.W. and Linda have spent over 50 years operating the sawmill originally started by J.W.’s dad back in 1960. Today their sons, Todd and Tim, each manage a business on the family property, located at 30001 E. Admiral Pl. in Catoosa.
Todd operates Diamond P Forest Products, a working sawmill offering rough-cut hardwoods native to Oklahoma, including kiln dried oak, walnut, cedar, ash and pecan. They can also cut long timbers for house beams and custom cut orders to size. Tim says there is no order too big or too small, and a variety of hardwood flooring is available as well. Talk about cutting out the middle man, the Powers brothers actually do most of the logging themselves, so you know exactly who you are dealing with when you order.
Diamond P Lawn & Garden offers two locations, the original store in Catoosa and the newest location in Claremore, to meet all of your lawn equipment needs. Both stores offer chainsaws, pole saws, trimmers, blowers, tillers and mulchers from names like Stihl and Husqvarna.
Josh, a.k.a “Little Fella,” helps out with the family business.
Tim Powers and wife Lisa operate the original Diamond P Lawn & Garden in Catoosa, along with Brittany Powers. They are proud to offer the Snapper line of mowers for homeowners. They also have one of the largest parts and service departments in the area, servicing what they sell and more. “We are a factory authorized service center for Exmark, Husqvarna, Stihl and Harman Stoves,” says Tim.
The ground may be cold and the yard brown right now, but spring is just around the corner. Before you know it, the grass will be growing, and it will be time to fire up the lawnmower. Now is the time to take care of your lawn and garden equipment and get it ready for the upcoming season. Diamond P’s own lawn and garden mechanic, Mark Sommers, is onsite and ready to get your equipment in top condition for a smooth start and precision cutting every time.
If it’s time for a new mower, Tim explains that there are many things to consider, including the terrain to be mowed, the size of the lawn, and applications such as mulching, side discharge or bagging options. The experts at each store can guide you in the right direction.
Both locations carry the Exmark brand, high-quality zero-turn mowers manufactured in Nebraska and a favorite of landscaping professionals, who say the mowers increase their productivity by 20 percent or more. J.W. said they are also popular with homeowners who want to spend less time mowing.
If you are looking for something to handle a large property, visit with the Powers’s grandson-in-law Jeremy Scott at the Claremore store, located on Highway 66. Offering both Exmark mowers and Massey Ferguson tractors, Diamond P has what you need to mow a quarter acre or a quarter mile of land. “We offer great products, and we stand behind what we sell,” says Jeremy.
Diamond P also offers Harman Pellet Stoves, Napoleon wood burning stoves and fireplace inserts. “We have beautiful options for heating your home, whether you want to burn pellets or wood,” says Linda. They also carry Traeger wood pellet barbeque grills, endorsed by Terry Bradshaw and designed to free grillers from gas flare-ups, messy charcoal and ruined meals.
Diamond P Lawn & Garden in Claremore is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday nights until 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are closed on Sundays to spend time with family, including the newest Powers grandchild, Brooklynn Nichole Scott, who was born on November 21, but hasn’t quite joined the family business yet. Visit Diamond P today for all your lawn and garden needs.
