After being released from the hospital, many people need additional services and care before they are able to return home. If you or a family member is in this situation, why not choose a care facility that feels like a luxury hotel while still providing quality treatment? North County Nursing & Rehabilitation in Collinsville recently opened its newly remodeled wing featuring separate, distinct suites that specialize in short-term rehabilitation with superior care in a gorgeous hotel atmosphere.
“Our rapid recovery staff provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services in a beautiful environment that makes patients feel comfortable and at home, for up to 100 days,” says Scott Pilgrim, managing member. “The suites do not look or feel like a hospital; it is more like a home away from home where the patient feels pampered.”
Whether you have had an orthopedic procedure such as hip or knee replacement, prolonged illness such as pneumonia, a neurological disorder, a heart attack or CHF, COPD, stroke, or even something as simple as a UTI and need additional care beyond your hospital stay, the staff and environment at North County is difficult to beat.
“Many patients’ biggest fear is that they will end up in long-term care,” Scott explains. “Our rapid recovery suites are completely segregated from the long-term care side. The goal is for patients to come here for care, and then return home – and stay home – when they are well enough.”
The private rooms are available in four relaxing color schemes, and each room has its own bathroom and shower. “We are very excited to be the first rehabilitation care facility in Oklahoma to offer Euro baths in every room,” says Kimberly Green, chief operating officer.
The spa area features a state-of-the-art therapy tub with electrical lift, heated towels, a television, and an innovative design and beautiful tiling that soothes and relaxes.
The hotel “feel” continues with meals; patients order their choice from the chef’s menu, and a delicious meal is delivered right to your room. “We also have a lovely bistro area where patients often gather to enjoy their eggs, toast and coffee from the Keurig as the sunshine streams through the windows,” adds Kimberly.
The highly skilled team of nurses, aids and therapists is led by Dr. Arvid Lade and Dr. Tom Luiskutty, who are affiliated with Saint Francis Hospital. Overall medical director is Dr. Jerry Patton.
“We strive to be the difference in the industry,” says Kimberly. “We understand that patients appreciate and enjoy the hotel-like amenities and pleasant décor, and we are very pleased to be able to provide that. Our number one objective, however, is to provide the highest quality patient care available. Our goal is to treat our patients with a servant’s heart and lead them to health and recovery.”
Medicare will pay for a patient’s stay in the rapid recovery suites at North County (100 percent for the first 20 days).
