Once a teacher, always a teacher. If an individual becomes very skilled in a specific area, some develop a compelling drive to want to pass on that expertise to others. That seems to be the case with one Broken Arrow couple, Charles and Becky Zwick.
It is said “teamwork makes the dream work,” and these words can apply to almost any situation as motivation to work together, but for Troy and Debbie Edmonds, it means a little bit more.
While the typical cat or dog remains the No. 1 and two picks respectively for pet ownership, some people prefer to think outside of the litter box when choosing their household companion. Among some of the most popular pets are fish, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs or birds.
Adults do this about 17 times per day. Children do it a whopping 300 times or more per day. What is it that children are doing that is outperforming adults so much more inexhaustibly? Laughing.
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. If that is true that picture better be a doozie, and quality photography doesn’t usually come without some seasoned skill. Most rookie shutterbugs fall in love with their own pictures and brag how they captured the most stunning expression on their subject’s face, but they are blind to the fact there is a flagpole in the background that looks like it is protruding out of their subject’s head. Many novices think they have captured the best landscape photo with brilliantly colored field flowers with snowcapped mountains framing the shot, but they didn’t notice that there is an overflowing trash can in the foreground that could have easily been framed out if they had just slowed down and did a check of each element within the frame.
On May 7, 2021, RCTC will host their 36th annual Golf Classic and 19th Hole Silent Auction. The tournament will take place at the Heritage Hills Golf Course, with proceeds directly supporting people with developmental and other disabilities at RCTC, and job sites in the surrounding area. The Classic is a 4-man scramble with designated tee times and flights. A Hole-in-One prize of a new car will be sponsored by Kissee Ford. Home-cooked hamburgers and hotdogs, as well as lots of exciting golf games, will make for a fun day on a beautiful course.
Spring has sprung at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum and events this year are more fun than ever! Event dates are planned to include a “Barter Bash” for kids to trade toys, “Family Days” where you can participate in live demonstrations, “Shindig” with live music, and “Movie Night” in their newly renovated Will Rogers Theatre. There is more to do, see and participate in than ever before with more events on the horizon.
