Think of this as an art appreciation course with a twist…and a clasp! Each week, participants will create a blended jewelry design inspired by a selected painting or sculpture form the Philbrook collection. The class will first visit the galleries for an interactive discussion in the presence of the artwork to learn more about the piece and the artist who created it. Drawing inspiration from color, theme, style, and more, participants will assemble a beaded personal accessory as an artistic reflection. No prior jewelry-making experience is needed, and all materials are provided. Participants will learn basic beading and wire-working skills as well as tool techniques and related vocabulary. Adults 55+.
