Armella Glenn and Tricia Holland, Staffing Director, hold the plaques My Choice In Home Senior Services recently received from the Oklahoma Association for Home Care and Hospice.
My Choice In Home Senior Services was recently recognized by the Oklahoma Association for Home Care and Hospice (OAHC) for outstanding service and contributions to senior care for the state of Oklahoma. The OAHC is a non-profit organization that serves as a resource, advocate, and educator for in home acre and care facilities. The OAHC provides support and standards to the many unique home agencies in Oklahoma. The OAHC has a tremendous focus on the ever changing field of home care and provides its members with timely and local education to insure the highest standards of care. Additionally, through work with government agencies, lobbyists, and other not for profits, the OAHC is an advocate for fair and safe regulations in the field of home care. My Choice In Home Senior Services proudly is a member of the OAHC and was thrilled to be recognized by such a respected organization for our efforts in the home care field. My Choice In Home Senior Services earned top honors in four categories: administrator/owner, caregiver, marketing, and volunteerism.
Armella Glenn, owner of My Choice in Home Senior Services, was recognized for her achievements by the OAHC as one of the top finalists for 2015 executive of the year. Armella’s successes in developing strategic and innovative client solutions as well as her community building earned her the top third distinction at the award ceremony September 15, 2015. Armella’s role as owner at My Choice requires her to manage employees and caregivers and coordinate new client assessments. Going beyond just the daily operations, Armella insures each client receives personalized service and along with My Choice’s staffing director finds the best caregiver to meet each clients individual needs.
Pamela Field, a My Choice In Home Senior Services caregiver, was recognized for her exemplary care giving and companionship by earning the top second distinction in care giving in the state of Oklahoma. Pamela provides the utmost care for one of our amazing clients. Pamela is a caregiver that sets the standards for companion care; she is not only professional but also creative and outgoing. Pamela’s role includes the daily care for a client, transportation and coordination of activities, preparing healthy meals, and light household organization. In addition to her daily responsibilities, Pamela researches community events for clients and finds creative activities to fill their day with meaningful fun.
Mary Suliburk, business development in marketing for My Choice, was recognized by OAHC for her contributions in marketing. Mary earned the third top distinction for her work on community building and innovation in marketing in the homecare field. Mary’s roles include digital marketing, the utilization of social media, as well as coordinating events within the community. My Choice In Home Senior Services offers a free fall assessment program to the community, and Mary has helped organize local seniors groups to take full advantage of this fantastic program. The safety and freedom of seniors is emphasized in all she does.
My Choice In Home Senior Services was also recognized by OAHC for its amazing volunteers. These volunteers reach out each day to seniors and advocacy groups to help make the lives of seniors full of companionship, freedom, and independence. My Choice is grateful to have such amazing people helping their clients and the community they serve.
Sheryl Sowell was born and raised in Tulsa, OK. She graduated from Will Rogers High School and received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Northeastern State University in 2007. She has worked for Value News as editor, writer and advertising copywriter since 2008. She enjoys meeting and interviewing people for Value News articles, learning about their backgrounds, and helping to promote their businesses and local events. In her free time, she enjoys reading, trying new recipes and crafts from Pinterest, attending concerts and sporting events, and spending time with family and friends. Sheryl lives in Tulsa with her fiancé Paul, their daughter Scarlett, and their two dogs, Gunner and Boo.
