Bixby Chamber Golf Classic

Join the Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce and other Bixby and South Tulsa businesses for an afternoon of golf at beautiful White Hawk Golf Club.

Ron Phillips of Citizens Security Bank in Bixby is the committee chairman for the ­annual Chamber Golf Classic, presented by the Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce.

On Tuesday, September 28, you can join the Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce and other Bixby and South Tulsa businesses for an afternoon of golf at beautiful White Hawk Golf Club. This is a great opportunity for you not only to enjoy the links, but also to network with other area businesses.

The annual Chamber Golf Classic is a four-person scramble with a shotgun start. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m., lunch is at noon, and the tournament tees off at 1 p.m. The afternoon will wrap up at the clubhouse with an awards presentation.

A wide variety of sponsorship opportunities for the Golf Classic are still available. “It’s an excellent opportunity to entertain clients and prospects in a casual and friendly way,” says Lisa Navrkal, president and CEO of the Bixby Metro Chamber of Commerce. “Golfers from Bixby and South Tulsa businesses will have a great chance to connect, and to have fun on the course.” There are 18 tee box sponsorships available. “You can put a tent at the tee box at one of our holes to provide a quick rest stop for golfers, while promoting your business. You can be creative – decorate it to reflect your business, and distribute golf promotionals with your business name or logo on them,” says Navrkal.

The Golf Classic will feature contests, prizes and trophies, including a longest drive contest and cash prizes for first, second and third place.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Bixby Metro Chamber. “The Bixby Metro Chamber works hand in hand with businesses, schools, city government, and civic organizations to improve our community’s quality of life and support its continued growth,” says Navrkal. “We want to bring out the best in business by offering our partners opportunities to promote and brand themselves in our community, helping them build relationships through networking functions, and keeping them informed and educated. We do all this to ensure thriving, prospering businesses in our community.”

The Bixby Metro Chamber relies heavily on the support and involvement of volunteers. “We’re always looking for volunteers,” says Navrkal. “For the Golf Classic, we need volunteers to assist on the day of the event to help with contests and assist golfers.” If you’re interested, contact the Bixby Chamber.

The tournament has contributed to the Chamber’s significant growth in recent years. “The Chamber has experienced huge growth over the last few years because we’ve stayed true to building relationships and to educating businesses so they can continue to prosper,” says Navrkal. “We now have over 420 members supporting 11,500 employees.”

The 2010 annual Bixby Metro Chamber Golf Classic is Tuesday, September 28 at scenic White Hawk Golf Club, 14515 S. Yale. The event is open to the community; team and individual opportunities are available.
