On April 4, 2024, more than 350 guests gathered at the Greenwood Cultural Center for the Booker T. Washington High School Distinguished Hall of Fame Foundation’s fundraiser and induction ceremony. The evening was extraordinary, supporting senior college scholarships for BTW students and honoring outstanding graduates. The keynote speaker was Dr. Fred Wright (class of 1968).

Former students and professors excelling in their fields were recognized, including Hall of Fame inductees Libby Billings (class of 1999), Barbara Coleman (class of 1964), Captola Dunn (class of 1949), Wendell Franklin (class of 1992), Tyler D. Lockett (class of 2011), Dr. Anthony Marshall (class of 1975), Ed McQuarters (class of 1961), Paulette Parker (AKA “Maxayn Lewis”) (class of 1965), Rev. M. C. Potter (class of 1963), and St. Rep. John Waldron (former BTW teacher).

These individuals have made significant contributions to the community and were celebrated for their achievements and commitment to excellence.
Established in 1996 by Otis Autry and later formalized as a 501c3 by Dr. La Verne Ford Wimberly, the foundation’s mission is to honor successful seniors, alumni, faculty, and administration. For more information about the Foundation, contact eat1@eau1eav1eaw1 or visit www.tulsabtwdhof.org.
