Claremore’s 3X Winner Small Rodeo of the Year returns Memorial Weekend

The Will Rogers Stampede PRCA Rodeo returns May 26-28 celebrating their 71^st annual rodeo. The rodeo earned the top spot at the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association annual banquet held in Las Vegas, NV last December.

“This is the third year in a row the Stampede has brought home this title; what an honor for Claremore and Rogers County”, said Tanya Andrews, Visit Claremore. “We are the only community in Oklahoma to win this honor multiple times and one of only two communities in the state to ever win the award. That is quite a statement for this Claremore tradition”.

To kick-off the annual event, the city of Claremore will host Boots On The Boulevard on May 25 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in historic downtown Claremore. The event will feature food trucks, shopping, children’s activities such as pony rides; and live entertainment by “Back Road Story” and “ShinyRibs”. The activities and concerts are free to the public and sponsored by Visit Claremore and Will Rogers Stampede PRCA Rodeo.

Nightly events start at 7:30 p.m. at the Will Rogers Round-Up Arena on east Blue Starr Drive. Rodeo performances include bull riding, bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing, rodeo clowns, and of course the kids “mutton-bustin”. After the nightly rodeo performances the Will Rogers Stampede Rodeo Committee invites everyone to enjoy free concerts! Concerts will start right after the last rodeo event each night, with Cody Canada and the Departed on Friday night; Jason Boland & The Stragglers on Saturday night; and Ricochet on Sunday night.
