A $10,000 cash prize could be yours during the third annual Buy Bixby campaign. Buy Bixby was introduced in 2007 as a collaboration between the Bixby Metro Chamber and the City of Bixby.
“Our city government operates on sales tax revenue,” explains Lisa Navrkal, President and CEO of the Bixby Metro Chamber. “This money supports our police and fire departments, our parks and our overall quality of life.”
Participating in Buy Bixby 2009 is fun and easy. A big kickoff welcomes the event and the holiday shopping season on Monday, November 9 at Citizens Security Bank, 14821 S. Memorial Dr. Radio stations KVOO and Big Country will be on hand to get the crowd in the mood to shop. Everyone present will receive one Buy Bixby ticket just for attending.
For every $10 purchase you make at a participating Bixby retail, dining or service agent, you’ll receive a ticket that will automatically enter you in the big drawing on Monday, December 21. Owners and employees of participating businesses are not eligible for tickets issued through that agent.
The grand prize drawing will be held at 6 p.m. at BTC Broadband, 11134 S. Memorial Dr., with KVOO and Big Country once again providing the musical entertainment. The prize-winning ticket will be drawn lottery style. The winner need not be present to win; however, the winner must be at least 18 years old and must claim the prize within three days of the drawing. If the prize is not claimed after three business days, a new ticket will be drawn. Shoppers are urged to keep all their tickets until the prize is claimed.
This year the Bixby business district offers a broader selection of shopping styles and businesses to choose from. There is the quaint atmosphere and small-town friendliness in the heart of the city, away from the crowded main corridors, and a short distance north are some unique specialty stores that just opened within the last few months. Now there is even more opportunity to pick up a little gift for someone, and possibly pick up $10,000 for yourself.
A special website, www.buybixby.com, makes it easy to find participating merchants and get answers to questions during the event.
The last day to shop for the Buy Bixby campaign is December 20. The more you shop, the more chances you’ll have to win $10,000 in cash!
