The 2010 holiday season is rapidly approaching, and the Broken Arrow Area Chamber of Commerce will be kicking off its Buy Broken Arrow Christmas campaign on November 5. Buy Broken Arrow is a time-proven solution for merchants who are looking to generate holiday traffic into their places of business. It’s also a highly anticipated happening for area residents who have the chance to win one of three prizes that total $15,000. The Buy Broken Arrow campaign is one of the most effective ways in which the chamber promotes the businesses of Broken Arrow.
“Last year the prize amounts were increased, bringing the total to $15,000,” said Kathy Reynolds, vice president of programs for the chamber. “Nearly 2.5 million tickets were distributed by participating Broken Arrow merchants at over 100 locations.” The 2010 goal is to reach even more consumers by again offering $15,000 in total prizes.
The grand prize in Buy Broken Arrow is $10,000. There will be a $3,000 second prize and a $2,000 third prize awarded.
To qualify for the drawings, shoppers must visit participating merchants, where they will receive a ticket each time they simply walk into the store; there is no obligation to purchase anything. Customers will also receive one ticket for each $10 purchase. Customers receive one ticket for entering a participating business, another ticket for spending $10, two more tickets for spending $20, and so on. There will be a maximum of 100 tickets awarded per purchase. When you do your shopping in Broken Arrow at participating merchants, you can easily see how quickly you accumulate Buy Broken Arrow tickets. The more you buy, the more tickets you receive, and the better your chance of winning one of the great cash prizes.
Business owners, managers, and employees cannot win on the tickets carrying their business’s numbers. However, they are eligible to win from tickets they received from shopping at other participating places of business. The chamber keeps a record of ticket number sequences for each participating merchant.
You do not have to be present to win. Watch your local news, check the Broken Arrow Chamber website (www.brokenarrowchamber.com) or check the City of Broken Arrow website (www.brokenarrowok.gov) for winning numbers, which will be announced on December 20 at 3 p.m.
The ticket holders will have three business days to claim their prize money. If not claimed, a second number will be drawn on December 23 at 3 p.m. Numbers will continue to be drawn on the following dates until a winner is identified: December 30 and January 4, 7, 12, 17, 20 and 25 at 3 p.m.
Broken Arrow’s annual Buy Broken Arrow campaign promotes the city of Broken Arrow and the many wonderful businesses that are such an integral part of the community. “We want to say ‘thank you’ for shopping in Broken Arrow, not only as we approach Christmas, but for shopping here throughout each year,” says Kathy.
