The Church Studio has announced its highly anticipated lineup for this year's festival, featuring the iconic Mike Campbell and The Dirty Knobs as the headliner. The festival promises an unforgettable experience for music enthusiasts, showcasing a diverse range of talent across various genres.
Carney Fest24, an all-day, cultural music festival is scheduled for April 27th at The Church Studio at 3rd and Trenton Avenue. Gates open at 10 am with the first band beginning at 11am. Attendees can expect a day filled with sensational performances, delicious food, and a vibrant, carnival-like atmosphere.
“The biggest act to come out of The Church Studio on the Shelter Records label is Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. We are ecstatic to have Mike Campbell return to the studio, 50 years later, with his band "Mike Campbell & the Dirty Knobs" to where his early career started. We are honored to have Mike with us as our Carney Fest headliner and can't wait to celebrate this golden anniversary with an artist we love and admire so much," said Teresa Knox, The Church Studio Founder.
Mike Campbell was a member, architect, and co-captain of the Heartbreakers, a band he co-founded with Tom Petty, who he met in a Gainsville, Florida carport in 1972. As the Heartbreaker’s lead guitarist, Campbell co-wrote many of the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers hits and also co-produced many of their albums - in addition to penning songs for Don Henley (“Boys of Summer”), Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, and playing on records by Aretha Franklin, Roy Orbison, and Johnny Cash.
The festival will also showcase a stellar lineup of both emerging and established artists, providing a musical journey that spans rock, country, hip-hop, R&B, metal, and more. Queen of the Tulsa Sound, Ann Bell, and her band will open for Mike Campbell & the Dirty Knobs.
In addition to the main stage performances, Carney Fest24 will feature a variety of attractions for festivalgoers of all ages. From artisanal food vendors, and exhibitors, to art installations, the festival aims to create a dynamic and engaging environment for everyone to enjoy.
As a historic landmark and one of the few recording studios in America on the National Register of Historic Places, The Church Studio, through Carney Fest, allows us to celebrate Tulsa’s rich music history while paving the way for a creative and bright future for locals, tourists, artists, and innovators.
General Admission to the festival is $49 and VIP tickets at $195 are available online at https://thechurchstudio.com/carney-fest-2024/
The festival’s mission is to produce, promote, and perform a family-friendly outdoor experience that enriches our community’s cultural landscape through the power of music. Proceeds from Carney Fest24 will benefit The Church Studio Music Foundation, a 501(C)(3) charitable organization.
