It’s no surprise Route 66 brings in a lot of tourists to Claremore during the summer months, and one of the businesses that benefit the most from this are restaurants. And in an effort to showcase chamber member restaurants, the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce started Chamber Restaurant Week three years ago. “The AAA RoadFest will be happening in Tulsa June 23 to 25,” said Director of Communications Ashley May. “And we hope to attract out-of-town visitors traveling Route 66 while they are in the area.” Chamber Restaurant Week will piggyback off AAA RoadFest by holding their event June 25 through July 1.

Another big reason for the week-long event is that the majority of chamber restaurant owners and employees aren’t able to attend chamber events because the events typically take place during breakfast or lunch, when they are the busiest. “This is our small way of giving back to them and showing our appreciation for all they do for the Chamber and in the community,” May said.

Restaurant Week Bingo

If interested in joining in the fun, it’s super easy. Pick up a Restaurant Week Bingo Card from any participating restaurant, online at Claremore.org, or in person at the chamber office, located at 419 W Will Rogers Blvd. Each restaurant will have a Chamber Meal Deal for that week, whether it be a free soft drink with purchase, a half-priced appetizer, or a special deal on a combo meal. The meal deals will be printed on the Bingo cards and diners will present their card at the restaurant for a stamp. However, they don’t have to purchase the meal deal to receive the stamp. When five stamps are earned, cards can be dropped off at the chamber office to be entered for a chance at winning a prize.

“Last year, we had 24 participants, so it’s definitely growing,” May said. Restaurant-goers can expect a wide variety, such as Mexican, Italian, coffee shops, and breakfast food.
