Jeremy D. Thomas, D.O., is a new partner with The Orthopaedic Center medical group at Claremore Regional Hospital.
Jeremy D. Thomas, D.O., began seeing new patients at his new orthopedic clinic in the Claremore Regional Medical Plaza in July 2008. Dr. Thomas is a new partner with The Orthopaedic Center medical group and will join partner Dr. Darnell Blackmon, who has been working part-time in Claremore for over a year.
Upon graduating from Owasso High School, Dr. Thomas began his medical training. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with distinction and was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band. He earned his medical degree from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated with honors – Phi Kappa Phi, Tulsa County Medical Society Scholar 2002, Tulsa Surgical Society Scholar 2002, Vice-President’s Award 1999-2000, Dean’s Award in Fall 2000, National Dean’s List 1999-2000. During this time he worked part-time as a lab technician to finance school expenses.
During the completion of his internship and orthopedic surgery residency training at Des Peres Hospital and St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO, Dr. Thomas gained experience as an emergency room physician and served as chief resident 2007-2008. His background in medicine includes emergency medicine, emergency pediatrics, cardiology, anesthesiology, radiology, internal medicine, family practice, general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and orthopedics. He currently provides general orthopedic care, including trauma, pediatric orthopedics, hand and upper extremity injuries, and sports medicine injuries.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Thomas join the Claremore Regional medical staff,” said David Chaussard, Claremore Regional Hospital chief executive officer. “Dr. Thomas has outstanding credentials and I am confident he will be a great asset to our hospital and to our community.”
Dr. Thomas and his family feel at home in Rogers County, as he grew up in the nearby Owasso area. Dr. Thomas has a love and appreciation for the people here and is looking forward to giving back to the people of Oklahoma, especially those in the Claremore area.
“I am excited about the opportunity to join the medical staff at Claremore Regional Hospital,” said Dr. Thomas. “Claremore is a great city, and my wife Tammy and I are looking forward to raising our two children here and becoming an active part of the community.”
