For the past three and a half years, WaterStone Cleaners has offered a unique approach to the traditional storefront. WaterStone provides a residential pick-up and delivery service on a regular route in the Owasso area. The clothing is processed at their plant and delivered to homes the following service day at no extra charge to the customer. However, many Owasso customers still prefer the personal contact of going to a local cleaners, and owners Jeff and Shelly Waters wanted to provide that as well. In May of 2008, the Waters opened their Owasso store and now, a year later, it’s time to celebrate that anniversary.

“We are very connected to Owasso. I was raised here, and we are raising our children here, so to open our store and serve our neighbors and friends is something that was very important to us,” says Shelly. “It was our goal since our valet dry cleaning service began serving Owasso three and a half years ago.”  

The result is a beautiful storefront located at 96th Street North and Garnett. The lobby is luxuriously decorated, and the staff is friendly and helpful. “We have wonderful employees that have been with us a long time,” says Shelly. In fact, the owners and staff of WaterStone Cleaners pride themselves on going above and beyond to make their customers happy. “Our plant employees are well-trained professionals who each have an average of nine years in the business, and they know how to take care of your clothing.”

Shelly feels service is something that definitely sets them apart from other cleaners. “If there’s a problem, we are just concerned about how to make it right,” she explains. “There is accountability when you live in the community where you own a business. We see our clients at church and the grocery store and the ball fields. We want to take good care of them.” WaterStone is happy to welcome new manager Janelle Colpitt, another hometown Owasso resident. She will join Shannon Taylor, Ashley Vaughn and Elizabeth Hert.

Jeff Waters says their state-of-the-art processing plant provides a pristine environment, and delivering the cleaning right to the customer’s door was something that appealed to him. “I have had to change shirts in the parking lot of the dry cleaners before I went to work in the morning because I forgot to pick up the cleaning the night before. That’s why the idea of offering home delivery appealed to me. I knew there had to be a better way.” Offering the standard drop-off and pick-up, after hours drop-off or use of their valet service gives WaterStone the ability to meet each customer’s needs.

A beaded wedding gown and a zebra-patterned prom dress stand sparkling in the lobby to remind WaterStone customers that these delicate items should be cleaned and preserved as soon as possible after the event. WaterStone offers traditional cleaning or the Keepsake Wedding Gown Preservation System, which will protect your cherished gown from yellowing, damage to the fabric, and stains from environmental sources. This service is available for christening gowns, communion dresses, linens, quilts and costumes. After a careful cleaning process and inspection, the item is carefully folded with ample layers of protective acid-free tissue paper and placed into the perfectly sized, archival-quality storage chest. A viewing window in the special box keeps the items safe but still able to be seen.
