Property Manager Angie Newman and Assistant Manager Patricia Gahman say the greatest thing about living at Wildwood Apartments is getting to know your friendly neighbors.
Wildwood Apartments has built a strong and loyal community over the years. “Wildwood is where Owasso calls home,” says Property Manager Angie Newman. “A lot of people leave home, but so many of them come back to where they grew up. Now we’re getting a second generation with a number of our families – some of the people who lived here in junior high are coming back.”
Newman has been in the housing industry since she was 18. She also manages the Carlyle Apartments in Broken Arrow. She has been with Wildwood since 1995. “Owasso has grown so much in that time,” she says. “With 132 units, we’re one of the smaller properties in town, but we still have a strong community.”
That community is prized at Wildwood. “The greatest thing about Wildwood is getting to know your neighbors,” says Newman. “So many people have been here for so long that Wildwood’s become like one big family. We have a lot of seniors here, but a lot of kids grow up here as well, and residents really look out for one another. Your neighbors become your family.”
Wildwood is located at 11611 E. 80th St. N., just east of Highway 169. Wildwood offers one, two and three bedroom homes in multiple sizes. Every unit has a fully-equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher, garbage disposal, stainless steel sink, and frost-free refrigerator. Every unit also has washer and dryer connections. Wildwood’s community amenities include a swimming pool and playground, 24-hour emergency maintenance, and a DVD movie library. Wildwood residents can pay their rent and put in service requests online. Wildwood is also pet-friendly.
Wildwood is owned by 1st Choice Management Group, which has 11,000 apartment units over 11 states. “1st Choice is a family-owned company with a great set of values. I love working for them,” says Newman.
“Our whole staff is very experienced,” says Newman. “And a number of them live here in Wildwood. For example, Patricia Gahman, our assistant manager, lived here during her teenage years and then moved back.”
Wildwood is a tax credit property. Income restrictions apply on move-in only. Newman calls this “a fine limit of opportunity.” Specific information on income restrictions is available on Wildwood’s website. Many residents also receive housing assistance, and Wildwood takes an active helping hand. “We’ve helped most of our residents who are on housing assistance, from encouraging them to apply when we saw they were eligible to filling out the paperwork.”
“Wildwood is a great community, and it’s a great value for the dollar,” says Newman. You can visit Wildwood Apartments on the web at www.wildwoodapt.net.
