The Marc Miller Buick GMC Service Team (L to R): Gary Howell, service director and master technician; Gregg Walton, service manager; and Service Consultants Colleen Bail, Scott Nobles, Mitch Fields and Robert Murray.
Marc Miller Buick GMC has recently undergone a total renovation, inside and out. “We’ve always maintained a clean operation,” said Service Manager Gregg Walton, “and with the new face uplift, spirits are soaring.” Marc Miller Buick GMC has always utilized state-of-the-art service equipment, and the new look of the dealership genuinely complements Buick’s luxury car theme. When meeting with Walton and Service Director/Master Technician Gary Howell, you can’t help but feel their enthusiasm as they talk about the new facility, plus features and benefits of Buick GMC automobiles.
Gregg and Gary each have 40 years of experience with Marc Miller Buick GMC. They both began working for the dealership when the company was owned by Marc’s father, Ernie Miller. Gary says, “Ernie was born with a great work and service ethic, and to this day I frequently find myself saying, ‘What would Ernie do?’ Marc inherited that same work ethic, and he’s literally performed every job at every level within the company.” If you ask around, you’ll find that most Marc Miller employees have worked there a long time. The company has high standards and requires frequent GM training for all of their ASE certified technicians.
“Conventional engines waste a lot of fuel when the vehicle is stopped and idling, like at a red light,” said Gary. The Buick LaCrosse, with eAssist technology, solves the problem by switching the engine into auto stop. It stops the engine’s idling and goes from gas to electric power. “As soon as your foot lifts off the brake pedal, eAssist seamlessly switches back to gasoline engine power,” he stated. eAssist integrates a powerful but compact electric motor, an advanced lithium-ion battery, and the vehicle’s already efficient direct-injected ECOTEC engine. As you coast or brake the vehicle, eAssist captures and stores energy in the lithium-ion battery. “Unlike hybrids, Buick’s system never goes on full battery power,” said Gregg. The Buick LaCrosse is advertised as the most fuel-efficient sedan in its class.
If shopping for an SUV, crossover, or truck, Marc Miller Buick GMC has a nice arsenal that will quickly put a permanent grin on your face. The GM LS family of V8’s are of deep skirt block construction, higher nickel-content cast iron, external oil pump, the crank main journals and connecting rods.
“It is an extremely rugged and durable engine,” said Gary, “and some of the highly desirable design characteristics of the GM LS family are found in other GM-designed engines used in vehicles ranging from sport coupes to full size trucks.”
“Buick GMC is building some of the highest quality vehicles on the road today,” said Gregg. “Our service department stresses the importance of owners staying on schedule with manufacturer-recommended maintenance intervals. And it is critical that you burn only top-tier fuel in your Buick GMC vehicle. Time and time again, we’ve seen low quality gasoline causing deposits in the engine and sometimes even ‘manufacturing’ oil that bypasses the rings and settles in the crankcase – not a good thing.”
Marc Miller Buick GMC is located on South Memorial at 47th Street. They have the look, the products, the people, and the commitment. And they want to be your exclusive new and used automotive and service source. Stop in today to say hello and see the newly renovated facility.
