Ready, Set, Eat! Once again it’s time to Devour Downtown! After such great success with the first ever Devour Downtown Tulsa Restaurant Week in January 2008, Downtown Tulsa Unlimited is proud to bring back Devour Downtown for another delicious week, August 18 through 24.
During this week-long event, several participating downtown restaurants will be offering great lunch and dinner specials in an effort to bring more Tulsans out to enjoy their downtown.
Several other cities host successful events similar to Devour Downtown to encourage people to come downtown and enjoy the heart of their city. It is very common for many cities to host two restaurant weeks a year, and DTU is taking strides to make that happen for Tulsa as well.
There are so many delectable restaurants downtown to delight your taste buds, and Devour Downtown is a great way to discover them without emptying your wallet.
If you eat downtown regularly for lunch, it’s a perfect time to try that new restaurant you’ve always meant to. Participating restaurants are offering some great, inexpensive lunch specials. If you aren’t a downtown regular, round up some friends or co-workers and give downtown a try.
Devour Downtown will also be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an evening with family or friends and discover new restaurants for dinner as well. With delicious dinner specials, you can afford to take the whole family, or use the savings to hire a babysitter for the evening and gather a group of friends and go for a night out.
Downtown is home to several delicious one-of-a-kind restaurants that Tulsans can be proud of. With the new BOK Center opening soon, downtown has seen a surge of new restaurants join the scene. Devour Downtown is a great opportunity to scope out and discover some new favorite places.
With over 20 downtown restaurants participating in Devour Downtown, there is certainly something for everyone to enjoy, so why not try something new every day?
There are more restaurants participating this time, including some that have opened since the January Restaurant Week. A few of the participating restaurants include Caz's Chowhouse, Eloté Café & Catering, Topéca Coffee, and White Rabbit Deli.
Not only will you get a great deal on a meal, you can also feel good about a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Tulsa Police Department's Downtown Bicycle Patrol.
For every special sold at participating Devour Downtown restaurants during Restaurant Week, one dollar will be donated to the Tulsa Police Department’s Downtown Bicycle Patrol. The proceeds from Devour Downtown in January purchased a new bicycle for the Downtown Bike Patrol.
The Downtown Bike Patrol is an integral part of downtown safety, so this is a great opportunity to help them out. With the new arena opening soon, Tulsans will see these officers more and realize the great impact they have on our downtown.
Hopefully through events such as Devour Downtown Tulsa Restaurant Week, many Tulsans will add downtown to their mindset of great places to go for a real night out on the town.
