Becky Medlock invites you to a unique firearms shopping experience July 9 and 10, when the Elite Sports Express will roll into Collinsville.
Medlock Firearms opened on Collinsville’s historic Main Street just over five years ago, and owners Jason and Becky Medlock are in the mood to celebrate with great deals and an extra-special event for their customers.
Hunters and shooting enthusiasts, mark your calendars now for Friday, July 9 and Saturday, July 10 and plan to attend the Summer Sales Extravaganza. Not only will Medlock be having a storewide sale, they will be hosting the Elite Sports Express, a 75-foot long “rolling” showroom housed in a state-of-the-art show coach and trailer. Special sale hours will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Medlock and Elite Sports Express will offer a complete display of products by Remington, Leupold Optics, Springfield Armory, Winchester, Sig Sauer, Glock and Ruger, just to name a few. Shoppers will be able to examine and handle the products so they can appreciate the quality and features.
Jason and Becky are excited about the opportunity this event will offer customers. They have expanded for the sale into the Veterans Building two doors east of the store, and that’s where the Elite truck will be parked. “I’m pretty sure a 75-foot long truck will be easy to locate,” laughs Becky. “Using the Veterans Building will also give us additional parking, and the educational displays will be inside – out of the heat.” Factory representatives will be on hand to answer questions and educate consumers on specialized product information, as well as ensure the safe handling of firearms.
Other special events will include door prizes and giveaways and a pancake breakfast fundraiser for the Collinsville Fire Department. Becky shared that customer Max Cook won the AK-47 given away by Medlock Firearms in conjunction with the Hogs ’N Hot Rods show in June.
“The store is growing, we are seeing a lot of new faces, and the range use has really picked up. We really appreciate our new customers and especially those who have been with us from the start,” said Becky. “We hope everyone will come out and celebrate with us.”
After the big event is over, you can be assured that Medlock will be here to meet your firearm needs. Jason and Becky are joined in the store by a qualified and experienced staff. Teresa Barnard is the newest face behind the counter, joining employees Brad Wells and J.B. Coppedge.
Brad is an expert marksman with 13 years of military experience. He offers private instruction and group classes for all levels, and can tailor classes to the customers’ needs.
J.B. Coppedge is a Class 3 advisor, which means he is able to help customers fill out the paperwork required to purchase guns, ammunition and accessories outside the normal range. Medlock Firearms now holds a manufacturing license for the Class 3 products, and J.B. can help with everything from sound suppressors to short barrels. “We are pleased to offer this next level of service for our customers,” said Jason.
Jason teaches the store’s conceal carry classes, and whether you need to learn the very basics, such as holding the gun, loading and unloading, or would like to improve your marksmanship, he is the person for the job.
Medlock offers custom finishing and traditional bluing. In addition, a new service they provide is Duracoat® custom finishing. With colors ranging from the basic black, brown and tan to fun colors like Barney purple and John Deere green, Duracoat finishes can make an old gun look like new again. Becky explains that the finish fills in crevices and is a great way to customize a new firearm or spruce up an older firearm to give as a gift. With prices starting at around $100, it’s also very affordable.
Medlock Firearms is located at 919 W. Main St. and is now operating on summer hours through Labor Day. The store and range are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
