A new medical spa in Tulsa has arrived to nurture your whole being, inside and out. Enhance Skin & Body Medical Spa opened last month with the mission “to enhance your skin and body’s health and wellness by maximizing your spirit, mind and body’s potential beauty.”
According to owner and CEO Kaye Sanders, every person has the potential to be beautiful. “Sometimes you will see people who appear beautiful on the outside, but when you see their actions, they immediately lose their beauty. Many people act this way because they are hurting inside,” says Kaye. “At Enhance Skin & Body Medical Spa, we are ministering to our clients’ physical needs in order to enhance their natural beauty, which comes from the inside. We believe everyone has the potential to be beautiful.”
Kaye has been a registered nurse for 32 years. Most recently she owned two durable medical equipment companies, but was in need of a big change. The threat of government shutdown had affected business, and she was unhappy with the way patients were being treated. “I prayed for the Lord to give me a creative solution,” says Kaye. “One day I had lunch with a friend who was in the medical spa business, and she opened my eyes to its wonderful possibilities. I began doing research and soon returned to school for certification. God truly put all the right people in my path for this spa to happen.”
The medical director at Enhance Skin & Body Medical Spa is Darnell Blackmon, M.D. “Dr. Blackmon is a wonderful, very hands-on physician, and we are thrilled to have him with us,” says Kaye.
Enhance Skin & Body Medical Spa is a premiere location for a multitude of services: Botox and line fillers, microdermabrasion, laser procedures including hair removal and body contouring, photo-facial rejuvenation, vein removal, facials and chemical peels, all varieties of massage therapy, permanent makeup, HCG weight loss programs, and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Another procedure they perform that many other medical spas do not is nail fungus elimination laser treatments.
For those who are overweight, Enhance has a solution that can produce lifelong results. “Our HCG weight loss program is unique because our very first step in the initial meeting is to determine why that person is using eating as a coping mechanism; we get to the root of the issue,” explains Kaye. The program includes meal and exercise plans, personal coaches, and weight control meetings, where participants can share their successes and challenges, as well as motivate and encourage one another.
Enhance Skin & Body Medical Spa hopes to help as many people as possible, of all ages and goals. Kaye encourages Gen X and Baby Boomer males in particular to give them a try. “Spas tend to focus on women only, but we believe men deserve to be pampered too and would greatly benefit from our treatments,” she says.
Kaye also recommends their services to power lifters and other athletes. Her two sons are bodybuilders, and her husband is a former bodybuilder. “Bodybuilders lose a lot of body mass when they retire from the sport, and the skin becomes stretched out. We offer skin tightening lasers for this issue,” says Kaye. “In fact, one of our first clients was a female competitive bodybuilder who wanted to define her muscle tone and keep her skin looking great.”
Another goal of the medical spa is to educate clients on health and wellness issues, and they will host weekly seminars on Thursday evenings in their beautiful event room. “We will discuss a large variety of topics: nutrition, skin care, exercise and movement, and the value of water, to name a few,” says Kaye. All seminars will led by local experts.
The talented staff at Enhance includes office manager Amy Nichol; registered nurses Pam Kirkendall, Megan Lopez, Natalee Caley, and Misty Eickling; estheticians and laser techs Tina Burke and Ashley Buchanan; laser tech Rachael Potter; consultants and laser techs Julie Cormier and Keeley Mead; and micropigmentologist Shauna Peterson.
