Family Practice Is Expanding

The practice at Thomas Eye Care has grown too.

Owasso is the home to Thomas Dental & Eye Care and the family of doctors who make up this married team. Dirk is a dentist and Lanita an optometrist, and together they are the parents to Brady – 7, Colby – 5, and little Audrey – 2. Baby made six as Delaney Ella Thomas made her appearance on September 21, weighing in at a healthy eight pounds, three ounces.

The practice at Thomas Eye Care has grown too. With Dr. Lanita working limited hours, two new physicians have been added to the practice to continue the tradition of excellence in customer service. Patient coordinator Laura Richardson says they are excited about the addition of the new doctors and the expanded hours for vision care. “We feel that Dr. Vincent and Dr. Dawson are real assets to the practice, and are providing our patients more flexibility in scheduling eye care.”

Dr. Robert Vincent has been with Thomas Dental & Eye Care since September and says he really enjoys working in the Owasso community. Dr. Vincent is a 1981 graduate of Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee and served as an optometrist in the Air Force at Laughlin Air Force Base in Texas for three years. He recently sold his private practice of 25 years and now divides his time among clinics throughout Oklahoma. “Working part time gives me the flexibility to travel and spend time with my wife, Roxianne. It also allows me to concentrate on client care.”

Also joining the Thomas team is Dr. Bridget Dawson, a graduate of Northeastern State University’s College of Optometry in Tahlequah. Dr. Dawson grew up in the southern part of Oklahoma in Ada. She worked as an optician for six years before pursuing her degree in optometry. “I really love working with clients and helping improve their vision. Owasso is a great place because it still has that small-town feel where everyone knows everyone,” she said.

The doctors at Thomas Eye Care offer thorough eye exams and custom fitting of frames. Although there are places that offer faster service, Dr. Lanita says it’s much more important to have an accurate prescription with glasses professionally made by lab specialists. “We carry something for everyone, from kids’ sports goggles and glasses to the largest selection of high-end frames in the area.”
