Sales Manager Nita Grisham showcases the lower-temperature saunas available at EZe Products in Tulsa.
Have you ever watched a movie or television show that displayed a group of people steaming together in a sauna? Did it make you wonder to yourself, “Do people really use those?”
TV shows and movies often portray saunas as cramped, uncomfortable, and filled with steam and extreme heat. One trip to EZe Products in Tulsa will likely change your perception of saunas, as well as the health benefits they have to offer.
More than 26 years ago, Tulsans Jerry Vick and Dan Cheshewalla stumbled upon some unique, booth-sized saunas in Tokyo, Japan. The Japanese saunas were using a very different type of heat than that of traditional American saunas, and the two men decided to bring the product to the United States.
Vick says that many people are confused by how a sauna works. When you use a sauna to enhance perspiration, the water does not simply leak out of the body – calories are burned in the process. While the water weight can be regained by re-hydrating with water, the calories have still been expended. According to Vick, regular use of a sauna may give your cardiovascular system effective conditioning. It has also been shown to accelerate healing for injuries and many chronic conditions through increased blood circulation.
Comfort is key with EZe Products. Vick explains that using Far-Infrared technology gives EZe saunas the same benefits of traditional saunas at lower temperatures. While the average temperature in a conventional sauna ranges between 180 and 195 degrees Fahrenheit, the EZe sauna’s range is a much more comfortable 104 to 140.
EZe has also addressed the issue of uneven heating. With traditional saunas, the heat is concentrated in only a small area, around the wire radiator being heated. EZe saunas use Micro-Carbon Fiber Flat Heaters, an internationally-patented technology that provides deep, even heat around the entire body. This eliminates the uncomfortable feeling where your head is too warm and your feet are still cold.
Vick says that attention to detail has resulted in a product that is beautiful as well as beneficial. The furniture-quality wood cabinets are available in several models and seat one to four people. The seating arrangement is conducive for socializing, as users are able to sit across from each other rather than side by side. Units can be constructed in non-allergenic Canadian hemlock wood or cedar.
Because the units utilize dry heat, you can take your cell phone, iced beverage and magazines inside. Each EZe unit comes complete with reading lights and beverage holders, as well as a CD player and AM/FM radio. Easy-to-operate controls are located on the inside and outside of each unit. In addition, the saunas can be used by a wheelchair-bound person, because they will not heat up the chair.
Based in Tulsa for over 15 years, EZe Products maintains a major local warehouse and showroom. “We also have a service department that is second to none in America,” said Vick. “Customers come to us because we provide great service, and the parts are available right here. We’ve been in the sauna business for 27 years, and we know our products very well.”
Besides use in private homes, EZe saunas are utilized across America and Canada in doctors’ offices, detoxification centers, spas and fitness centers. The U.S. military and several fire departments are clients of EZe.
“Firefighters don’t always know what they’re walking into when they enter a burning building – they’re frequently exposed to toxins,” explains Vick. “Sauna units are purchased for detoxification, but the firefighters use them just as much, if not more, for pain relief.”
Whether you’re trying to improve a specific medical condition or just boost your overall health and sense of well-being, a relaxing sauna may be just what you need. The experts at EZe Products are ready to help.
