Discount Mike’s Tire and Automotive is pleased to announce that they have completed AskPatty.com Certified Female Friendly® training and is now Oklahoma’s first AskPatty.com Certified Female Friendly tire retailer and service center. To achieve certified status, personnel completed online training on how to better meet the expectations of the woman consumer.
“Up until now, like many automotive businesses, we thought the obvious goal was to ensure that women were treated the same as men. Through the Ask Patty program, we’ve learned that treating women the same as men does not necessarily yield the ideal experience for women,” said Mike Gauldin, owner of Discount Mike’s. “This may not sound profound, but with an increased awareness of what elements women seek in a positive automotive servicing experience, our service centers are better prepared to meet and exceed the expectations of our female customers.”
Co-developed by AskPatty.com and leading tire industry magazine Tire Review, the multi-dimensional program helps create an inviting and comfortable environment where women feel welcome. They guarantee that the experience of repairing and maintaining a vehicle will be a pleasant one. Ask Patty trained and certified associates are held to a high level of customer satisfaction with women consumers. For more information about the program, visit www.askpatty.com.
Discount Mike’s Tire and Automotive was founded in 1989, originally known as Eastside Tire & Automotive. Mike and Patty Gauldin then took over the helm of the company in 2005 and changed the name to Discount Mike's Tire and Automotive. “We built our business around the foundation on which it was started – the very finest customer service standards possible,” said Mike. “Not only are we proud of the company's 20-year tradition of extraordinary service, but also of Discount Mike's ability to offer quality tires and automotive services.
In November, Discount Mike’s celebrated its one-year anniversary at its new location, 81st and Lynn Lane. “Our shop is very spacious and has a customer friendly atmosphere. The new lounge was designed to make the waiting process as pleasant and friendly as possible through the use of pleasing colors, comfortable furniture, a coffee bar and complimentary bottled water. The lounge is equipped with a flat screen TV, adding to the relaxing atmosphere throughout the store. We also have free WiFi,” said Mike. When you bring your vehicle in for servicing or for new tires, you may wait in the lounge while work is performed, or if you wish, a Discount Mike’s employee will drive you home or to your place of employment while services are completed.
Part of the new facility, the Hunter Power Bay, is designed for a leading-edge alignment system that will provide better, faster alignment services on vehicles. One of the shop's new lifts will facilitate custom cars and trucks, duallies, and all domestic and foreign makes and models. If it can be driven on the street, it can be driven onto the floor lift.
Mike Gauldin emphasizes community service. His company is a Partner in Education with the Broken Arrow Schools and has supported Broken Arrow Neighbors, Citizens Police Academy, Optimist Club, Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Broken Arrow Alumni, and the Miss Broken Arrow Pageant.
