Tabitha Felts continues to carry a wide variety of the popular UGGS boots for adults and children at her Ne-Mar Center shoe store, along with an array of other brands.
They’ve been voted the best shoe store in Claremore for many years. Maybe that’s because owner Tabitha Felts takes pride in helping meet her customers’ needs and wants every day. “As the store owner, I have the flexibility to listen to my customers,” says Tabitha. “If we don’t carry a brand, I can check into it for them. I can also do custom orders.”
At Felts Shoes, located in Ne-Mar Center at 999 W. Will Rogers Blvd., the footwear available runs the gamut from the simple to the unusual, including the popular minimalist running shoes, which she carries in several brands.
“The Vibram FiveFingers shoes are very popular with runners,” says Tabitha. “We have them for men and women, girls and boys.” Vibram FiveFingers were launched in 2006 after research into barefoot running and fitness training provided a unique solution to knee pain and soreness that often follows running. It allows the foot to move and work in a completely natural way, while providing grip and protection over a variety of surfaces.
Some runners and exercise buffs, however, prefer something a little more substantial but still lightweight. Felts carries other minimalist shoes by New Balance and Merrell. Other popular footwear on the shelves at Felts includes UGG boots for women, girls and men. The boots come in a variety of styles and colors to suit even the most discriminating of wearers. “We have a wide assortment of all kinds of boots for men and women,” adds Tabitha.
In addition to the popular winter boots, the store has a selection of Puddles rain boots. “You can also purchase liners separately to convert them into winter boots,” Tabitha explains. “Then, you can remove the liners for spring.” Sperry TopSiders, a casual shoe, are popular with the school crowd. “We carry two fur-lined pairs also,” says Tabitha. “They are casual but different from a tennis shoe because you can wear them with a skirt or pants.”
Another popular brand carried at Felts is BOBS by Skechers. They come in canvas and corduroy, or for those who like to stand out, you can buy a pair with sparkles. “Skechers is also participating in Soles for Souls, a program that helps children in need,” she says. “If you buy a pair of BOBS, the company will donate a pair of shoes to the MAD Project – ‘Make a Difference’ in Haiti.”
If you are looking for something in addition to footwear for your Christmas gift giving, Felts carries many other products including Handmade in Nepal items. The line features 100 percent wool crocheted and knitted stocking caps and hand warmers, as well as an assortment of purses made of felt, cotton and silk.
For your favorite college football fan, Felts carries collegiate watches sporting the OSU and OU logos. You can also purchase Oakley sunglasses. Both make great stocking stuffers. For the infant whose parent roots for one of the top two Oklahoma college teams, Felts carries Team Squeaks baby shoes in the popular crimson and cream or black and orange colors.
To keep up with new arrivals, find the store on Facebook at Felts Shoes – Claremore. “By liking my store on Facebook, you will be able to see new arrivals and find out about sales,” Tabitha says. “I also welcome your suggestions and comments at the site.”
