Bobby Sanders and Troy Redmon are owners of three Jersey Mike’s locations in Tulsa. This year, their stores benefitted Domestic Violence Intervention Services, Inc. (DVIS) during the Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving.

Jersey Mike's is known for their legendary sandwiches, always sliced and grilled when you order so they’re as fresh as you can get. Delicious “Mike’s Way” with onions, lettuce tomatoes, red wine vinegar and a special blend of oil and spices, or made just how you like it on authentic Jersey bread, they are the only chain in the country that serves Certified Angus Beef deli meat. Jersey Mike's has much more to offer than their unbelievably tasty and fresh food.
“We truly do have a great sandwich, said Charlie Brown, a Jersey Mike’s store owner and Area Director for Oklahoma. “We also work extra hard at trying not to give you the typical fast food experience. We want to take the time to engage you and make you feel comfortable, and to hopefully make your day better.”
Even more than their fresh sandwiches, their charitable giving stands out among the competition. If you visited any of the 18 Oklahoma Jersey Mike’s locations during March 2017 and donated, you helped raise $9,350 for Domestic Violence Intervention Services, Inc. (DVIS), a Tulsa Area United Way agency, and $72,000 for the Central Oklahoma Regional Food Bank. The Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving is a nationwide effort to give back to local communities. Donations are collected in stores throughout the month, and on the annual Day of Giving, all sales are donated. This year, Jersey Mike’s generously contributed an incredible $5.5 million to worthy causes all over the country.
Peter Cancro, the current owner and CEO, gave up a football scholarship as a 17-year-old to purchase Jersey Mike’s and quickly noticed that not many companies were giving back to their communities and he wanted to change that. He saw an opportunity to make a difference and established the annual Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving as a way to give back to his community. Because of him, Jersey Mike's has been collecting donations to contribute to important causes in the communities they serve since the 1970s.
“The people he looked up to were people who were active in the community, and he wanted to emulate that,” said Brown. “Our mission statement as a company is to make a difference in somebody else’s life. We try to take that to every time we make a sandwich, we hope your day is a little better because you came to our store today instead of somewhere else.”
Stop in to any of the Tulsa area Jersey Mike’s locations for an authentic sub sandwich and to brighten your day.
