“Finding the right hairstylist for your hair care needs is just like finding any other professional,” says Deann Koger, owner of the newly established Beyond Salon in south Tulsa. Deann and her stylists will take the time to consult with you and ask appropriate questions about your hair history and what you need from your style.

It is true that everyone has different hair needs, and locating a stylist that will do proper justice to one’s look is sometimes a trial by error. Deann and her team of stylists strive to provide top-notch hair care to each client.

“The name really says it all,” says Deann. “I want my business to be beyond a typical salon, not assembly-line service. We really do care about each client and are dedicated to individual attention.”

Beyond Salon provides a friendly, comfortable atmosphere, as Deann believes in hiring the right people who will mesh well with the environment and the staff. The salon itself is a medium-sized, airy space, with six booths and a cozy waiting area. The ambiance is elegant without being terrifyingly chic, and all areas are kept exceptionally clean.

The salon offers hair care to men, women and children of all ages. Shampoo, cut, color and styling are performed by pleasant, professional hair stylists who enjoy their trade. Beyond Salon also uses a wide range of hair care products, including Tigi, Redken and Rusk.

“I believe that no one product has the best of all ingredients,” says Deann. “All of the stylists do use high-quality Schwarzkopf products for the color work for our clients.

“There is no heavy sales pressure brought on our customers to purchase products,” Deann continues. “Some people are uncomfortable if they feel they are coerced into buying extra items.”  

Beyond Salon is in an easily accessible central location, with plenty of shopping opportunities and restaurants nearby. Parking is effortless and plentiful, which is always a benefit to busy south Tulsa patrons, many of whom believe that finding the right salon is crucial.

“It makes me happy when the clients leave happy,” says Deann. “Sometimes simple hair maintenance or a change of style can illuminate their whole day, which is why we aim to provide the best service possible and make clients feel at home. We are all about quality, not quantity.”

Appointments are available on a pre-scheduled basis; Deann recommends setting an appointment a week in advance, particularly if you are coming in to get styled for a specific occasion or event.
