Increased self confidence; numerous health benefits including cardiovascular and toning exercise; development of rhythm, coordination, elegance and grace; improved social skills; stress relief; and don’t forget about fun! The art of dance offers a wealth of personal gains. If you’ve never taken a dance step in your life or if you’re at the competitive level of dancing, Claremore Dance Studios in the heart of downtown offers a beautiful studio with championship-level instructors whose main goal is to make dancing fun, challenging and educational for their students.
Co-owners and instructors Danielle Doubet and David Clanin opened the studio in February of this year and welcome everyone from beginners to competition-level dancers of all ages. “We are the only studio in northeast Oklahoma that offers dance instruction in everything from ballroom and ballet to country and west coast swing,” says David. “We stand apart because of our diverse background and experience – we do it all here. We truly offer something for everyone.”
David has been dancing and teaching dance for 25 years. He competes in ballroom, country and west coast swing, and is a six-time UCWDC World Champion. David prides himself on having a fun and energetic approach to teaching dance. Danielle is also a dance veteran and teaches ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and ballroom for ages three and up. She is an eight-time UCWDC World Champion in ballroom dancing. Danielle describes her approach to teaching dance as patient, yet fun.
David and Danielle personally train and coach all of the studio’s instructors, so whether you are working directly with them or other members of their staff, you can be assured you are receiving the highest level of instruction at Claremore Dance Studios.
David has owned Tulsa Dance Studios for 12 years, and he recognized the need for a top-notch dance studio in Claremore. “This is a great college community. We have been really happy here, and we look forward to meeting and dancing with many more Claremore residents in the future,” says David.
Claremore Dance Studios offers group classes and private lessons. No partner is necessary. “We believe dancing is endlessly captivating, combining elegance and artistry,” says Danielle. “We are sure that you will find your experience with us to be really fun and educational. We promote a friendly studio environment that develops self esteem and mental and physical fitness.”
Danielle adds that another reason they stand apart from other studios is that it’s more casual. “We don’t have a strict dress policy. We are really fun and want our students to enjoy themselves and to not stress about anything, but rather focus on the experience of learning dance and having a great time.”
New classes begin in August. Call (918) 729-6915 for enrollment information.
