Fall is finally here and nothing ushers in a new season better than a new look. Whether trying something new, or just wanting to look good for holiday parties and events, always start with the base: your nails. Chipped polish, nails that have been unkempt, brittleness and discoloration make for unsightly nails and can ruin your entire look.
Quality is important in finding a manicurist. Stopping into a random nail salon can be risky. How experienced is the person doing your nails? Do you leave with pain under your nails, or cuts along your cuticles? Salons that don’t have high sanitary and cleaning standards can lead to infections and discomfort.
Debbie Edmonds of Reveal Salon & Aesthetics has a long list of faithful clients that show this is not the case for her services.
“Debbie has so many clients that have stuck with her,” says Owner and Esthetician Nicole McGinnis. “ I think that just shows not only her character but her care and dedication to her clients.”
Debbie has 30+ years of experience as a nail technician, and many of her clients stayed with her since she began. She has been at Reveal for the past four years, and says her clients enjoy the pleasant, clean atmosphere of the salon. She provides women and men of all ages services including manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails and Shellac. She also uses solar oil for dry nails to get them back in good shape.
“Shellac is a popular option because it allows you to grow your natural nails, and it comes in a variety of colors. The polish stays on for two weeks without chipping, about half of my clientel has it,” Debbie said.
In addition to Debbie’s practices of cleanliness and sanitation, her gentle hands, and the salon’s pleasant atmosphere, another benefit to becoming her client is that she truly takes the time to get to know you and develop a relationship.
“I enjoy my work, and my clients become my friends. We talk about our lives, our work and our families,” she says. “I learn their preferences and what services they like. I also get to know my clients’ skin, and have even found skin cancer spots before and recommended seeing a doctor.” Nail services are not simply about looking good – they are important for the health of your hands and feet as well.
Debbie and her husband Troy, who is a stylist at Reveal, have been married for 43 years. The couple has two children and five grandchildren. Debbie says many of her clients will schedule appointments to have their nails done, followed up by a haircut from Troy.
Nicole McGinnis, salon owner and licensed aesthetician, provides a variety of skin care services at Reveal, including solutions for anti-aging and acne, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, custom corrective facials, and OxyGeneo, a breakthrough anti-aging treatment that oxygenates skin from within while exfoliating and infusing it with potent regenerating nutrients.
The Reveal team also includes six other stylists and a master barber. The entire staff offers consultations in all services for those who aren’t quite decided about a new look. The salon has been voted Best in the World by Tulsa World Weekend readers in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
