Hospitality House of Tulsa, a local nonprofit ministry that serves patient families from all Tulsa hospitals, celebrated their 15th year of service in the Tulsa community. To help celebrate this significant milestone, Mayor G.T. Bynum has officially proclaimed Aug. 24, 2021 as “Hospitality House of Tulsa Day”.

The Hospitality House of Tulsa is a nonprofit organization that provides a “home away from home” for families traveling to get medical care. At their recent fundraiser, the Route 66 Gurney Tourney, 65 racers from five different teams competed in an obstacle course designed to represent real-life obstacles that families face during a medical crisis far from home. The event raised over $35,000 toward providing home-like lodging, meals, prayer support, and transportation assistance to families in medical crisis. The Hospitality House of Tulsa helps patients and caregivers by providing lodging, meals, prayer support, laundry service and transportation assistance to people pulled away from home caring for loved ones. According to Toni Moore, Hospitality House president and CEO, they put the "fun" in "fundraiser" with the annual Route 66 Gurney Tourney, set to take place on the University of Tulsa campus May 11 starting at 10 a.m. Each team garners donations, decorates their bed-on-wheels and sets off to compete in an obstacle course race against other teams. The third annual Oklahoma Caring Awards on Sept. 13 celebrated finalists and announced the winners in six distinct award categories. The evening gala featured Jody Jean Dreyer, a 30-year Walt Disney former Senior Executive as the keynote speaker and incorporated Disney-themed elements throughout the event.
