By, Macy Goodnight; The idea of planning a dream wedding is thrilling and exciting, with so many magical possibilities to consider! A one-stop-shop for all of the elements that make for most noteworthy nuptials can be experienced at the enchanting city of Claremore’s newest wedding show. Say Yes To I Do!
On Saturday, January 30th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Yes To I Do – Claremore’s Premier Wedding Event will take place at the Claremore Conference Center. The show will highlight local wedding vendors, allowing couples, brides and their maids, or just anyone who loves weddings, an opportunity to explore a host of exquisite offerings that could be included in plans for that most special day. Door prizes will also be awarded. Tickets can be purchased for $6 per person at the door or in advance at The Bookworm - Cakery and Gifts. Guests who attend will be given an event tote bag to put their freebies and info into.
Event planner, Haylie Choate, is the owner of The Bookworm – Cakery and Gifts in Claremore. It is her hope that through this event, more local wedding vendors will have an opportunity to exhibit and highlight their services. “I wanted to give an opportunity for more local vendors an affordable show,” she said. “It’s a great way for small businesses like mine to get the word out about their business.”
Some of the confirmed businesses in attendance include Make It Special, Will Rogers Memorial as a venue, as well as florists, entertainment, and more. Any local, smaller businesses that would like to participate might still have the ability to register.
“If we have space a week before the event, I’ll take them,” said Haylie. Interested parties can email her at eat0@eau0eav0eaw0, for application and further information.
As wedding planning trends are evolving, Haylie notes that church weddings are not as popular as they once were. “Couples are looking for unique and interesting venues and services for weddings now,” she said.
“We hope that Claremore catches on as a wedding destination.”
With many exquisite venue locations and an incredible array of wedding services available in the area, Claremore is an optimal choice for an elegant and distinctively unique destination for a perfectly wonderful ceremony and reception.
Haylie stumbled into planning this show based mostly on the high demand. Last year, her bakery, The Bookworm – Cakery and Gifts, hosted a tasting event and sold over 800 mini cupcakes in various flavors that day. When planning the event this year, she thought to see if other vendors would be interested in participating. The response was immense. “I had over 30 businesses reach out to me wanting to join,” said Haylie.
“We knew we needed a bigger location, and the Claremore Conference Center was very generous in providing our space.” Unlike other wedding shows in the area, Yes To I Do will be a community event with a hometown feel. It will provide unsurpassed personalized attention from each of the vendors. “I love weddings and anything that’s elegant,” she said. “Weddings are just magical, like a fairytale.”
