Touch of Sun Owasso Manager, Brittany Clark
Touch of Sun Tanning Salon has loyal support from its customers. The business has received awards not only for their salon in Owasso, but at their Sand Springs facility as well. The well-managed facilities put emphasis on cleanliness, well-trained employees and quality, top-of-the-line equipment. One other factor that store manager Megan Gomez emphasizes is that Touch of Sun is a no-contract tanning salon.
“We don’t feel like we need a contract to keep our customers,” says Megan. “We also do not draft bank accounts. Our customers pay by the month.”
Regular tanners also receive rewards in the form of discounts when they renew monthly.
“With Express and Turbo unlimited month packages, our regular customers can save money each month for continuing to tan with us,” she adds. “It is a way for us to honor our customers.”
For the infrequent tanner, a customer can purchase point packages. “This is for the customer who wants to maintain a tan or get just a little bit of color here and there,” says Megan, “and the points do not expire for two years.”
Point packages can be used in any combination with the different beds, including the lay down and stand up variety. “We have quality equipment,” adds Megan. “Our Royal Sun beds are excellent, and we maintain the lamps.”
The Owasso tanning salon offers 18 beds: four Express Royal Sun beds, nine Turbo Royal Sun beds, two Turbo stand up beds, and two Ultra or high pressure beds, including the Ultra High Ultra Bronze and the Ultra High UV Scan. The salon also offers an age-defying sunless tanning booth by Versa Spa. “This sunless spray system is UV free,” says Megan. “We sell it by the session, or with unlimited tanning, the customer can upgrade to a spray tan.”
The Versa Spa system, according to Megan, is for those who want instant color in a single session. “It’s for last-minute people who don’t have time to tan or want to be UV free. Its also safe for pregnant women and pageant kids.”
The Versa Spa system is a full-body treatment system that allows the customer to select from a combination of solutions that will bronze and smooth the skin. The system doesn’t just tint the skin, but creates a complete spa-like session that results in a healthy, natural look.
“ With the Versa Spa spray tan you have to wait 4-6 hours before showering to see results,” Megan says. “The solution continues to develop over 12 hours. Once you shower, it usually lasts 7-10 days, gradually fading away. It is perfect for parties, last minute tans and the customer who doesn’t tan in a bed while still having the appearance of a natural tan.
Employees at Touch of Sun are well educated. “Our employees are trained to know about the equipment and how skin tans. They are required to take a test to become Smart Tan certified,” says Megan. “We also maintain a very clean facility. That is important to us.”
The multi-level tanning salon is located in the Fairway Market in Owasso at 9540 N. Garnett Road. It is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday. February peak season hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon until 7 p.m. Sunday.
