Summer is right around the corner and parents are looking for fun activities to keep their little ones busy without breaking the bank. Andy B’s Entertainment Center has the answer and the best thing is, it’s free.
Registration is currently underway for Andy B’s Kids Bowl Free summer bowling pass promotion. Kids of all ages can bowl for free all summer long. Manager Maggie Reasor said the program has been very popular and attracts hundreds of kids each week, and she expects this summer to be no different. It’s a great way to introduce kids to the sport of bowling, she said. “We have 32 lanes, and for the younger kids we have the ramps and bumpers so even the smaller ones can play.”
The program is a great way to keep kids entertained without spending a lot of money. Mom Tawny Webb said her son, three year-old Eli, loves to bowl and she started bringing him to Andy B’s last year. He learned to bowl on the family’s Wii game console, but now he loves to play the real thing. She heard about the Kids Bowl Free program and plans to sign Eli up this summer. She said even at age three, Eli is not too young to enjoy bowling, especially with the help of the ramp to launch the ball and the bumpers to keep it in the lane.
“He was too young before,” she said. “He didn’t quite get the concept, but now he gets it and he loves it. He’s very patient and waits his turn. He’s really strong and likes to carry the ball and push it so the ramp helps.”
Adults who register their children can also participate in the free summer bowling program. For a one-time fee of $29.95, up to four adults can play two games free per day with the coupon, plus the cost of shoes. Kids Bowl Free runs April 19 through August 29.
Andy B’s, located at 8711 S. Riverside, is a full-service family entertainment center and offers a lot more than just bowling. Following an extensive renovation in 2008, the center features 32 traditional lanes and 16 VIB, or Very Important Bowler lanes that have a more modern feel with lounge seating, mood lighting and a full-service bar. There is also an indoor go-cart track, laser tag, more than 50 arcade games, private banquet rooms and full-service catering.
Bowlers can join one of the many bowling leagues that play at the center, and there is a full-service pro shop that sells bowling balls, shoes and other related equipment.
It’s also a great place to hold a birthday party for children or adults, corporate team building, family reunions and more, said Reasor. “We can customize an event to meet the needs of our customers. There’s really not anything we can’t do.”
Andy B’s is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to midnight, Friday 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday noon to 10 p.m. To register for Kids Bowl Free, go to www.KidsBowlFree.com/AndyBs.
