Are you considering replacing your deteriorating driveway? Is it suffering from a case of the “uglies?’ It’s a bad reflection of you and your neighborhood. If you live in Oklahoma long enough, the odds are that one day your drive is going to need a makeover. Between the freezing snow and ice that our winters generally deliver and the corrosive effects of products used to melt ice from our frozen paths of travel, your driveway is eventually going to start showing negative signs of age, corrosion, and other influences.

Most homeowners expect their driveway to last 20 to 30 years. However, a truly well-built driveway can last 30 to 40 years. There are many reasons that cause your driveway to begin cracking and crumbling before its lifespan is up, The biggest reason is shoddy installation, followed by exceeding weight capacity, and improperly prepared foundation that has not been engineered for Oklahoma’s soil conditions. Kalan Paul, owner of LCI Concrete, has been specializing in replacing driveways since 2006. To date, he has professionally completed more than 1,200 driveways in the Tulsa metropolitan area.

How Long Should A Driveway Last?

Kalan Paul and LCI Concrete specialize in the replacement of concrete driveways that have, for one reason or another, a case of the “uglies”. “We use only the finest and strengthening materials available for any project we do,” said Kalan. “When only the finest materials are used in properly preparing the ground through the laying and curing of the concrete, we expect the finished product to serve you well for at least 30-40 years.” LCI performs driveway replacements throughout northeastern Oklahoma communities including Tulsa, Bixby, Jenks, Coweta, Sapulpa, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Collinsville, Oologah, and Catoosa.

How do I Choose a Driveway Replacement Company?

LCI’s ultimate goal is a satisfied customer and outstanding workmanship in each job they tackle. When you’re considering replacing a driveway or other concrete areas of your home or business properties, make sure you know the people you’re asking for estimates. Get a quote in writing that itemizes all work to be done and specifications of the products and materials they will use in completing the work.

Ask to see verification of the individual’s or company’s general liability. It’s always good to deal with companies you know or those who have been in business in our area for at least a year. Don’t be duped by an imposter claiming to be in the home-improvement business. Ask for credentials and references before you commit.

Any reputable business will be able to provide you with proof of their credentials. It’s also important to ask for references for projects the company has done that were like yo urs. It’s unwise to solely trust online reviews…personally reach out to the home or business owners references and then visit the properties to see some finished projects.

Driveway Design Considerations
  • How much parking would you like?
  • Do you want room for two cars to pass?
  • Do you need space to turn around?
  • What is the position of your home’s garage?
  • Does it face the street, or is it on the side of your home? Is it detached in the rear of your home?
  • What is the terrain?
  • What look do you want to create?
  • Do you want a grand entrance or a simple driveway?
The LCI Difference

LCI Concrete has served the Tulsa Metro area for over 18 years, and they have a list of more than 1,200 driveways available for your viewing.

“Steel rebar is critical for strengthening concrete work ,” says Kalan. “Make sure it is part of the fabrication process and specified in the total cost estimate before you sign a contract.” Replacing a tired, unsightly driveway is not inexpensive. But, with its life expectancy when done professionally, it can be a great investment adding value to your home or business.
