The Hasty-Grant family.
Melanie Hasty Grant and Ken Grant are the owners of Waterstone Private Wealth Management in Owasso. “Milestones – anniversaries, birthdays and New Year’s – give us reason to reflect upon our past plus look ahead with hope and opportunity,” says Melanie. “We’ve been honored to serve clients and our community for 15 years and are blessed by how they have touched our lives.” The couple feels humbled and privileged by the incredible clients that made the choice to work with Waterstone.
Markets over the past two decades have been a wild ride, accentuating the need for expert advice. “While no one can predict the future,” said Melanie, “the next 15 years will likely present similar challenges.”
Clients rely upon Melanie’s and Ken’s trained authority in the financial field. They have been contributors and guests on multiple national media outlets including CNBC’s PowerLunch, Fox Business, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and Market Watch Radio. Locally, they have frequently been interviewed by Tulsa World, Fox 23 and Good Day Tulsa. Melanie writes the Money Maven column for Value News and was an LPL Chairman’s Club Award Winner in 2013, an honor bestowed to the top 10 percent of advisors nationwide. She was recognized in the Wall Street Journal as a Top Oklahoma Business Woman by the National Republican Committee and was invited to attend The Barron’s Top Women Advisors Conference.
“The client relationships we build are more than financial numbers and charts,” said Melanie. “We witness clients’ life goals, dreams and hopes for their future. I am in awe of our clients’ courage and perseverance to create extraordinary lives.” Melanie and Ken believe they are here to serve others. Twenty-seven years ago, while dating at Southern Methodist University, they established goals to help others. “Those dreams have come true,” said Melanie, “and that’s why we’re driven to involvement in our community and to help out wherever we can.”
Melanie has served the following: Owasso Education Foundation, Mental Health Association of Tulsa, Owasso Community Resources (then Network Owasso), Owasso Community Center, Rotary, Owasso Character Council, and the Arts and Humanities Council.
Melanie’s financial career began in 1999 as an advisor at Edward Jones. One year later she was running her office and was volunteer regional trainer for new advisors. “I loved helping them learn the business and understand the importance of helping others,” she said. Melanie founded Waterstone Private Wealth Management in January of 2003.
Ken joined Waterstone in 2004 and oversees investment research and analysis, strategic asset management and trading. “Melissa Bowlin joined us last year. She has 10 years experience in the financial industry and is an answered prayer to our organization,” said Melanie.
Ken has served the following: Owasso Chamber chairman, Owasso YMCA chairman, Tulsa Metro YMCA board member; and Future Owasso Rams football coach. Both Melanie and Ken are members of the Owasso Quarterback Club, and Ken played football at SMU and OSU.
Melanie and Ken will be honored at the “Boots and Bowties” event in May, when they will celebrate 15 years of service with clients, family, friends and neighbors. Call Waterstone Private Wealth Management to receive a formal invitation to the event; space is limited.
