Students of cosmetology are likely to find that their career choice is in high demand.

Mindy Gerving and Denise Nelson say that Claremore Beauty College will help people interested in a cosmetology career reach their full potential.

Students of cosmetology are likely to find that their career choice is in high demand. A career school investment can provide invaluable training at a fraction of the cost of a four-year college program. In addition, students who choose an education in the field of beauty services generally have always had a passion for cosmetology and love their work. Claremore Beauty College will be celebrating 40 years of cosmetology education in April of 2009, and the school is as dedicated as ever to its students and helping future cosmetologists in reaching their potential.

“Many salons in Claremore are either owned by graduates or employ our graduates,” says owner and Master Instructor Denise Nelson.

Denise recently purchased Rumours Salon, located in the heart of Claremore and staffed by many Claremore Beauty College graduates. Rumours provides cosmetology services for the whole family and is located at 517 W. 5th. Call Rumours Salon at (918) 343-2250.

Claremore Beauty College instructs students in a range of beauty services: hairstyling, cutting, coloring, permanents, hair extensions, manicures and pedicures, facials, and brow shaping. The classes are small, allowing instructors to provide individual attention. The school is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences, and a trained staff is on board to assist individuals with financial aid, enrollment and instruction. Students can also enjoy being surrounded by people who share their enthusiasm about the work.

Currently, skilled beauty technicians are in great demand, and a graduate can reach income levels that surpass those who do not have an advanced degree. The field also offers flexibility; hairstylists can become salon owners and instructors, or cross-train in nail and skin care. Claremore Beauty College students graduate with the most current techniques in the many-layered field of cosmetology.

“We place a great emphasis on a quality education,” says Denise. “We have up-to-date equipment and instructional aids to better provide a variety of career opportunities.”

The college also provides excellent beauty services to the public. Under the supervision of the qualified instructors, students who have accomplished 150 hours of hands-on experience perform the work. The prices are very affordable, and these appointments give students a chance to learn and perfect client interaction.

“Clients love the students because they are very eager to please,” says Denise.

Either a high school diploma or a GED is required to enroll at Claremore Beauty College; generally, new student enrollment takes place every six weeks. Claremore Beauty College, located at 200 N. Cherokee, is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To find out more about a career in cosmetology or to set an appointment for services, call (918) 341-4370.
