You may assume that such a description is of a luxury day spa, but it is actually referencing the offices of Drs. Dirk and Lanita Thomas. This unique Owasso couple, he a dentist and she an optometrist, have created the ultimate in comfort and specialized personal service so there is no longer a need to leave Owasso for the best in dentistry and the trendiest of eyewear.

Dr. Lanita Thomas opened her Owasso office in 2000, after graduating from Broken Arrow High School and Northeastern State University. As a busy mom of three young children, she knows the value of her clients’ time and the importance of giving excellent service from the start. In fact, many of her patients come to her after an unsatisfactory experience somewhere else. “Your eyesight is something that affects your life every moment, and it’s critical that you take the time to have a thorough exam and be fitted properly for eyewear that will meet your needs,” says Dr. Lanita. “We don’t overbook and we don’t get in a rush. It will take about 45 minutes at my office, but that’s not much time when you realize you are caring for your eyes.”

On the other side of the offices, Dr. Dirk Thomas is living his childhood dream. As a graduate of Owasso High School and the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Dirk returned to his hometown to work and raise his family. Opening his Owasso practice in 2003, Dr. Dirk is now able to treat childhood friends as well as those new to the area. His practice is built on excellent service and getting to know his patients and their families. “I call in the evenings to check on patients; I’m available for emergencies. It’s almost unheard of anymore, but we are really into old-fashioned care with cutting-edge procedures,” explains Dr. Dirk.

Dr. Dirk has several loyal patients who come from far and wide for his dental care. Many patients visit him in conjunction with visits to family in the Owasso area, but a few come from out of state specifically for his dental services. “It’s humbling to realize someone would get on a plane, rent a car and drive from the airport to come and have me take care of their dental needs. I have a lot of patients from the Tulsa metro area, but Texas? That’s loyalty,” grins Dr. Dirk.
