Fixed Operations Director Mike Griffin with some of the great tires now available at South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge.
Mike Griffin, fixed operations director for South Pointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge (CJD), wants everyone to know that South Pointe is not only a leading tire selling dealership in the region, but they offer major tire brands at very competitive prices. “It’s very simple,” says Mike. “We want our customers to know that they can come to us for all their service needs, including tires.”
Mike says the South Pointe CJD service department has surprised several customers who called or dropped by to check out their tire selection and prices. “We really are competitively priced,” he says. When you visit South Pointe you’ll find selections including Goodyear, BF Goodrich, Michelin, Continental, General, Yokohama, Firestone, and other popular brands.
When you buy tires from South Pointe you receive additional long range benefits. If you ever have a flat, bring it in and it will be properly repaired for free. Your tires will also be rotated free according to recommended manufacturer intervals. And your tires will be inflated with nitrogen rather than air. This too is free.
Nitrogen promotes longer rim life because rim rust caused by condensation from water vapor and other gases can get caught in valves and create slow leaks in your tires. The air that is normally used to inflate tires contains both oxygen and nitrogen and is typically prone to condensation, foreign particles and contaminants. Nitrogen, on the other hand, is completely dry and should reduce deterioration of the rubber in the tire and actually prolong the life of tires.
Maintaining and running the recommended tire pressure in your vehicle’s tires assures that the manufacturer’s recommended “contact patch” is on the road. This lessens rolling resistance and maximizes fuel efficiency. “Under-inflated tires are reported to cause 90 percent of blowouts,” says Mike. “With nitrogen you get more reliable tire pressure and reduce blowout potential.”
Best of all, according to Mike and tire manufacturers, nitrogen provides owners with longer tire life. When oxygen comes in contact with other materials, it causes oxidation which can make rubber brittle and cause it to lose tensile strength. With pure nitrogen there is no oxygen present. South Pointe recently provided a great community service to the Tulsa Police Department by replacing the air in all police vehicle tires with pure nitrogen.
South Pointe has a hi-tech Inspection Lane System that provides owners with a list of components that are tested just by driving over a set of sensitive measuring plates. The total test takes only a few seconds and provides owners with a sideslip report that indicates how fast tires are wearing by measuring how straight each wheel is traveling down the road. The more a tire pushes sideways, the faster it wears out. Sideslip testing is provided free each time a customer brings their vehicle to South Pointe CDJ for their Express Lane Service or just a free check.
There are still a lot of potholes and rough spots on area streets since winter storms did their damage. It will be worth the drive to South Pointe’s service department for a free sideslip assessment and to look at all their great tire offerings. Tires are available for competitive make vehicles as well.
