On Friday, July 19th, 2024, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma will be granting a wish in partnership with Little Light House of Tulsa. Alexander (Alexi), a four-year-old from Tulsa could have asked Make-A-Wish for anything, to meet anyone, to be anything, but instead he wished to give back to an organization that has made an impact on his life – Little Light House.
Little Light House is a Christian developmental center for children with special needs. Alexi has benefitted from their mission as he has learned therapeutic ways to deal with his own needs. Alexi is nonverbal, with additional neurological disabilities. He has learned to communicate with his family and friends with the help of Little Light House.
When Make-A-Wish Oklahoma discussed Alexi’s wish with his family, they decided a sensory playroom at Little Light House would bring Alexi joy and be a place his legacy can live on. Friday, July 19th, is also the day Alexi will graduate from the Little Light House program. The “Alexi Harris Dragonfly Room” will serve many families in the coming years by providing a safe place for children with neurological disabilities to play, learn, and grow.
“It’s not often we have wishes to give back,” says Madison Ruh, Marketing Manager for Make-AWish Oklahoma. “It is so inspiring to see a child choose to give their wish back to benefit others.”
Alexi's wish will be revealed Friday, July 19 at 2 pm at 5120 E 36th St., Tulsa, OK.
