Sister Act, A Divine Musical Comedy

SISTER ACT, A DIVINE MUSICAL COMEDY OPENS RUN FEBRUARY 29TH AT TULSA COMMUNITY COLLEGE Tulsa Community College Theatre and Music Departments will present Sister Act, A Divine Musical Comedy in the PACE Studio Theatre February 29-March 2nd at 8pm and March 3rd at 2pm on the campus of Tulsa Community College Southeast. Sister Act, A Dive Musical Comedy is written by Sheri and Bill Steinkellner and Douglas Carter Beane. Music by Alan Menken and Lyrics by Glenn Slater the musical is based off the 1992 starring Whoopi Goldberg abs tell the story of disco club singer in the late 1970’s, Deloris Van Cartier played by Mikaela Scott is placed in protective custody in a dying convent, her unique brand of funk comes face-to-face with the traditions of the church and the strict order is in for a change," reads a Sister Act press release. "Masquerading as a nun named Mary Clarence, this sister's act will have you laughing and singing in the aisles." Nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The musical is being produced by special arrangement by Music Theatre International. Joining Scott in the cast are Valentine Tarpley as Mother Superior, Brayden Marchant as Curtis, the mobster, Von Love as cop Eddie, Ashtyn Marshall as Sister Mary Patrick, Amanda Yarberry as Sister Mary Robert, Samantha Kennedy as Sister Mary Lazarus, Jenna Soltis as Sister Mary Theresa, Jillian Mohn as Sister Mary of Tours and guest artist, Mark LeHoullier as the Monsignor O’Hara. Playing the Pope is guest artist surprise. Also appearing in the ensemble playing numerous roles are Ana Nunez playing a dual role of Sister Mary Peer and Pablo, Canyon Garner as TJ, Touna Vue as Ernie, Adam Morgan as Joey, Aaliyah Morris as Tina, Sydney Greena as Michelle, Conner Griffin and Dominic Diamond as police officers. Playing other nuns are Moriah Jestus as Sister Mary Smiles, Natalie Curtis as Sister Mary Frolic, Nicole Brookman as Sister Mary Wary, Becky Hankins as Sister Mary Graceless and Sydney Greeno as Sister Mary Tattle. Sister Act features choreography by Jennifer Andrasko. The design team includes Aaron Kennedy (Set Design), Stephanie Stone (Production Stage Manager and Lighting Design), Emily Westerfield (Costume Design), Ally Hardsaw (Sound Designer) and Madison Bejamin (Make-up and hair design). Moriah Jestus (Properties) and Randal Pike (Set Construction) Ryan Johnson is the (Assistant Stage Manager) and Jo Jocie Fechter is the (Assistant Costumer) Mark Frank is the Artistic Director and Lara Cowan is the Music Director and conductor. Angeline LeLeux-Bajzek served as the rehearsal accompanist. Paleontology In The Library

The OSU-Tulsa Library has partnered with the OSU-CHS Anatomy and Vertebrate Paleontology Department for this exciting exhibit highlighting research and discoveries of OSU students and faculty from right here in Tulsa! Stop by to see dinosaur vertebrae, fossil casts, 3D skulls and tools used in the lab and field work. This annual event will provide guests the opportunity to sample various traditional wines and food from Ireland provided by Melody's Creative Cuisine. Proceeds from this event will go to supporting local students as they prepare for college through mentoring and life skill classes. Bob Wills’ Texas Playboys In Concert

Come to the historic Cain's Ballroom in the Tulsa Arts District to honor one of America's most innovative and amazing musicians with plenty of music, dancing, and Western swing. Bob Wills' Texas Playboys, under the direction of two-time Grammy winner Jason Roberts, will play sets that remember the musical genius with toe-tapping tunes you won't want to miss. This Texas Playboys aggregation, like Bob's original band, includes some of the best swing musicians both Oklahoma and Texas have to offer. Don't miss this living embodiment of a tradition that stretches all the way back to 1933 as the Bob Wills' Texas Playboys take the stage this March.

The Rubber Chicken Factory Improvisational Comedy Troupe

The Rubber Chicken Factory Improv Troupe Returns March 4th at TCC TCC Theatre presents, The Rubber Chicken Factory Improvisational Comedy Show, Monday, March 4 at 7pm at Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus PACE Studio Theatre at 7pm. The event is free to the public. Seating is limited. The Rubber Chicken Factory has been entertaining audiences since 1995. The Improvisational Comedy Troupe performs live audience participation improvisational "on the spot" comedy which consists of short form improv games with suggestions from the audience. Second Saturday Architecture Tour – Downtown Tulsa: Classic Art Deco

Take a fun and educational walking tour through downtown Tulsa and other historical local sites during Second Saturday Architecture Tours, hosted by the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture. These monthly walking tours will give you an insightful look into the exciting architecture and prestigious collections that you may pass by every day. Sites include Tulsa's various Art Deco buildings, The Church Studio, the Blue Dome District, America's Crossroads in Sapulpa and much more. This month's tour will take you on a walk through the Oil Capital District, where you'll learn about the classic Art Deco-style architecture that was brought to Tulsa between 1925 and 1949.

Green Country Arabian Horse Association Spring Fling

Don't miss your chance to see some of the most beautiful horses in Oklahoma at the Green Country Arabian Horse Association's Spring Fling. Watch as Arabian, half-Arabian and all-breed horses compete in various disciplines such as halter, English pleasure, hunter pleasure, and western pleasure as well as exciting ranch events like cow work, reining, herd work and many others. Both exhibitors and curious spectators will delight in watching these magnificent animals on display at Tulsa Expo Square this March.

1940’s Hanger Dance

Step back in time to the WW2 era during the Oklahoma Swing Syndicate and Tulsa Air & Space Museum's Hanger Dance. Put on your 1940s best, listen to the "Sounds of Music Orchestra" live big band and experience one of the largest swing dances in the country during this fun annual event. Arrive early for free dance lessons or take to the floor later in the evening to show off your best dance skills. Patrons will also have a chance to bid on silent auction items or enjoy vintage soda and candy available for purchase. You won't want to miss this family-friendly affair amidst vintage aircraft and WWII memorabilia, which serve as special backdrops to the night's festivities.
