Thus, in an effort to make this information more readily available to Oklahoma consumers the MIO Restaurant Program was born.

The Restaurant of the Month promotion was implemented to provide additional support and recognition to MIO restaurant members that go above and beyond the baseline requirements for membership by offering a robust selection of MIO products to their patrons. After each restaurant of the month is selected, a public voting process is implemented at the beginning of the next calendar year to determine who will be named MIO Restaurant of the Year. The winner of the MIO Restaurant of the Year campaign will receive a plaque of recognition, free advertising through MIO, a special feature on the MIO website and social media platforms as well as a $1,000 donation to the food bank of their choice.

Three years after Oklahoma became a state, in 1910, a man by the name of Henry Kamp, arrived in Oklahoma by train. He was a German immigrant who was headed to the Pacific Northwest; however, when he stopped in Oklahoma City, he never left. From that time, his brother, William, and he started a small grocery store at the corner of NW 25th and Classen Boulevard. Over the years, they became an Oklahoma City icon well known for their quality meats, deli, bakery and most of all their outstanding customer service.
