Mouthwatering Holiday Hams and More

Ham It Up began seven years ago as a shop intended to cast the spotlight on – what else?

By: Duane Blankenship | Category: Restaurants | Issue: December 2008

Ham It Up owner Paula Brown has just about anything you could possibly want for the rapidly approaching holiday season: spiral sliced hams, Hebert’s specialty meats, gift baskets, catering packages and much more.

Ham It Up began seven years ago as a shop intended to cast the spotlight on – what else? – hams, and the store rapidly grew to include many other fine products as well. Customers today will indeed find honey glazed hams with an old-fashioned flavor that’s hard to find anywhere else. Owner Paula Brown says, “That’s because Ham It Up hams are slowly dry cured, which allows them to reach perfection with the bone still in them, adding even more flavor.” Each ham is glazed with a special blend of spices and honey to seal in juices, creating a wonderful, delicious-tasting product.

With the holidays just around the corner, it’s great to know that Ham It Up will ship perishable items and more, Monday through Thursday, to anywhere in the United States. The store has a vast array of meats and cooking products that make special gifts for family members, friends, employees and clients. And, any of the items selected from Ham It Up can be packaged in a gift basket to create a memorable holiday surprise. Many of the foods carried at the store have the “Made in Oklahoma” label.

If it’s not convenient for you to go to Ham It Up to do your shopping, you may go online to make selections and then call in your order on the Ham Hotline, (918) 254-4267. You may also email orders to eat0@eau0eav0eaw0 or fax them to (918) 254-4270.

In addition to the spiral sliced and honey glazed hams, you will find various beef selections, pork, chicken, turkey, and turducken. Ham It Up is a distributor of authentic Cajun foods by Hebert’s Specialty Meats. Their turducken is a delicately deboned turkey that is stuffed with a succulent deboned duck and chicken. A delicious cornbread dressing and port sausage stuffing is also added. Special seasonings are sprinkled over and in the entire product. Is your mouth watering yet? The turducken is vacuum-sealed to allow the seasonings to permeate throughout, enhancing flavors and ensuring freshness. All you have to do is put it in the oven.

Ham It Up is also a distributor of Schwan’s products: high-quality steaks, pork, chicken, turkey, fish and seafood sides, tasty vegetables, and beautiful desserts.

For anyone planning a corporate event, family gathering, tailgate party, or other kind of get-together, Ham It Up specializes in custom catering. It’s a great, easy way to say, “Congratulations,” “We Appreciate You,” or “Best Wishes.” Specialty trays may include deli-style meat and cheese, deli-style ham and turkey, fresh seasonal fruits, fresh veggie platters, and even Boar’s Head deli specials.

When you can’t decide what holiday present to give a special someone, consider a gift certificate from Ham It Up. Or, you can’t go wrong with a package of Hebert’s fresh-cut USDA-approved filet mignons, rib eyes or deboned chicken. And be sure to check out their special marinated meats.

Meats, vegetables, meat sauces, marinades and mixes – this store has hundreds of great choices guaranteed to satisfy even the most particular person on your list, or to satisfy you. You can also Ham It Up for a great hot meal for lunch or dinner any day. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. If you haven’t been in before, visit Ham It Up today and find out what you’ve been missing.
