Dave and Gloria Pierce joined the RV industry in 1979 as Dave’s Claremore RV. The couple started their business in a small building on Historic Route 66 near Claremore, Okla. This year they will celebrate their 28th anniversary.
The Pierce couple envisioned their business to be built on the values of outstanding customer approval and service. According to Randy Sloan, General Manager of Dave’s RV, “The company has always strived to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction possible. We want to be known as ‘the company that cares.’” This drive has always been recognizable in Dave’s RV, most recently by the acceptance of a prestigious industry service award from the Newmar Corporation. The leading manufacturer of one of the country’s finest recreational vehicles gives awards only to companies attaining a 93 percent or higher customer approval rating in multiple areas, including overall customer satisfaction, exemplary service and the delivery of products and services in a timely manner. Dave’s RV met the criteria to receive the award.
A friendly atmosphere has always been important to the Pierces. It is important to Dave’s RV that clients are made to feel welcome by maintaining the company’s “small-town” hospitality. Also at Dave’s RV is a clean environment. “Everything from the restrooms to the parking lot is kept neat, clean and inviting to our patrons,” Sloan said. “We strive to portray professionalism in every aspect of our business.”
In addition to achieving their desired image, Dave’s RV continually expanded every year until the business finally outgrew their facility. In order to continue providing the level of service customers had grown to expect, the Pierces purchased land three miles south of their original location on Route 66 and planned to build a new, larger facility.
Construction of the new Dave’s RV was completed in March 2001. With 19 acres of land to use, the Pierces increased their facility size, as well as their inventory. Major manufacturers including Newmar, Forest River, Gulf Stream, Keystone and Thor are represented in hundreds of travel trailers, fifth wheels and motorhomes.
Dave’s RV currently hosts 20 service bays with 14-feet-high doors to accommodate even the largest RV’s. Skilled technicians perform complete repairs on all brands of RV’s and appliances. Sloan mentioned, “We also have Oklahoma’s largest RV Paint & Body Shop.”
According to Sloan, “Our organization has 75 experienced, qualified personnel that are dedicated to our customers’ long-term satisfaction. Everyone at Dave’s RV is detail-oriented and strives to make owning an RV a positive, enjoyable experience.”
After visiting Dave’s RV, it’s obvious that the visions of Dave and Gloria have become reality. The entire staff of Dave’s RV takes personal pride in the company, and they treat people the way we all like to be treated. The Pierces believe in the RV business and have raised their children on RV vacations, knowing that it is a wonderful family-oriented lifestyle. They are optimistic for the future of RV’s, and their initial vision stays in their minds as they continue to serve customers and expand and improve Dave’s Claremore RV every year.
