When you enter Owasso Drug, you are greeted with a friendly ‘hello’ and a smile. A few more trips through the front door will likely net you a greeting by name. A sliding glass window is in place at the drive-thru for prescription pickup rather than a speaker and for good reason: “It’s more personable. Conversation is clearer, and we can reach out and shake people’s hands and thank them,” explains Ryan Flanary, co-owner and pharmacist at Owasso Drug.
It is in these little details— the commitment to old-fashioned customer service— that it becomes obvious why Owasso Drug is quickly becoming Owasso’s hometown pharmacy. “We treat every customer like family,” states Flanary.
Though Owasso Drug, as an independent pharmacy, is smaller in size than its corporate competitors, it rivals them in being able to serve its customers with modern conveniences. For instance, they have their very own Owasso Drug App available for download for Apple™ and Android™ devices. The app lets you order prescriptions on the go. Moreover, Owasso Drug offers services that others don’t, including a daily scheduled delivery service to customers. Compounding is also available in-house which is a rarity at other pharmacies. They even stock hard to find prescription and specialty medications
In addition to handling the prescription needs of its customers, Owasso Drug offers standard over-the-counter medications as well as various unique gift items, hoping to provide the convenience of one-stop shopping to their customers.
Owasso Drug accepts all insurances, including Community Care and Blue Cross Blue Shield. For cash-paying customers, they match or beat any local competitor’s price, including the $4 generic plans.
Flanary, along with longtime friend and fellow pharmacist, Jared Bennett, opened the doors to Owasso Drug just over two years ago. The reception by the community has been overwhelming and continues to grow. “I think as an independent pharmacy you have a lot more flexibility in getting to know your customers and meeting their needs.” Recognizing the importance of community, Owasso Drug tries to give back by supporting various local educators as well as promoting other local businesses in drawings and fun gift card giveaways.
