Owner, Danna Malone; The Shoppe is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the medicinal use of marijuana. Here, Danna explains the role that Terpenes, a cannabis derivative, have in helping patients. Cancer patients have found significant results with the use of Terpenes. They are produced by a variety of plants, particularly conifers, and by some insects. They often have a strong odor and may protect the plants that produce them. Many edible herbs and plants have them, but they are most productive when applied medicinally in marijuana.

The Shoppe, located at 5874 S. Mingo Road in Tulsa, specializes in the medicinal use of marijuana and cannabis products. “We really want to remind people that this a medical marijuana program and that we are not recreational yet,” said Danna. “We also need to remind people of the many benefits to patients that medicinal use can provide.” With so many questions and much interest, inquiries are highly encouraged. “If people have questions, they need to reach out to our dispensary, or any others that are more focused on medical use,” Danna said. “We do consultations and talk in-depth about our patient’s needs and ailments, and then we treat that.”
Danna was working as a paralegal when the opportunity of dispensary ownership was presented to her. A colleague at the time had expressed interest in getting into the new industry in Oklahoma. Danna had always been interested in helping others achieve wellness and knew that it was the right fit for her. Danna had found that she saw results in providing comfort for her own conditions, including lupus, scoliosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. In the early 2000s, she was the Regional Director for a global online organization, Wish Upon a Hero. Their number one request was medical help for veterans with no insurance or money to pay for care. “I tried to help people get these resources, so when this opportunity arose, it was like I came full circle,” she said. The Shoppe was opened for CBD use only in October 2018, with medical marijuana following shortly after. Danna’s partner in ownership is her son, Patrick Malone.
CBD and THC Products. According to Danna, many patients find that a trifecta of THC, CBD, and Terpenes are a dynamic solution in the use of medicinal marijuana.
The dispensary is exceptionally veteran-friendly, providing much-needed care and resources with medicinal marijuana licensing and product care. “We have helped many veterans, and have even gone into our own pockets to help veterans get the help they need,” said Danna. “I really and truly believe this is something many veterans need.” The Shoppe encourages anyone that would like to help to donate to their Compassionate Care Program, which not only provides proceeds to veteran’s care but also disabled and cancer patients in affording licensing and medicine.
“We want to help educate people and make them feel comfortable with medical marijuana,” Danna said. “If anyone has questions, just call us. We will even give a tour so people can see what a dispensary is like.” It is legal for anyone to enter a dispensary, but a state license is required to purchase marijuana products. Licensing is not required for CBD. “We will help walk people through the process to help them get their cards. We are absolutely patient-focused.”
