Spring has arrived, leaving behind snow-patched, frozen yards. Of course, pets seem to enjoy thawing yards, taking every opportunity to indulge in the puddle-wonderful world. When, inevitably, your dog or cat runs up to you covered in springtime mud, don’t despair. Beth’s Pawfection Dog Grooming is a phone call or email away.
Located conveniently at 2208 S. Hwy. 66 in Claremore, just behind OklaHomes Realty, Beth’s Pawfection Grooming offers a wide range of services for cats and dogs of any size. Whether your pet is a shaggy mutt with personality or a best in show princess, Beth Holmes and her staff will keep your pet safe and calm, returning him or her happy, clean and ready to cuddle.
With summer just around the corner, owners can expect shedding to begin. Help your pet ditch their winter coat with a Furminator de-shedding treatment. While preparing for summer, you may consider a flea shampoo. In addition to basic bathing and grooming, Beth’s Pawfection also does nail clipping and filing, as well as nail painting and caps. Other services include skin treatments, anal gland expressing and teeth brushing.
The grooming area also features special equipment to ensure unique pets, like especially large breeds or elderly dogs, are safe and comfortable during their session. A walk-in tub is helpful for dogs with bad backs, or those who are so large they cannot be safely picked up and placed in a regular tub. Also, an electric grooming table, which is adjustable from ground to waist height, is a necessary luxury for such situations. Such attention to detail and extra effort at care helps pets and owners enjoy their grooming experience.
Holmes opened her grooming service at the current location three years ago. Word about Beth’s Pawfection has travelled fast and business has steadily increased; her staff has grown, too. Holmes is pleased with her team and client base. “We have plenty of people to handle appointments within a day or so,” she says. While appointments are encouraged, walk-ins are accepted if and when time permits. Business hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
At the core of her team is Shelly Crosthwait. A master groomer and registered veterinary technician, Crosthwait also draws upon her experience showing dogs. “Shelly is great at giving advice,” says Holmes. It is common for owners to overlook early signs of illness in their pets, and Crosthwait is helpful in drawing attention to potential concerns. Amber Combs, another groomer, is “a natural,” according to Holmes, and is a welcome asset to the team. Bathers Brittney and Beverly work hard to support the groomers and keep pets calm and happy as they wait.
“One of my main concerns is making sure pets are comfortable and happy as we work with them,” says Holmes. She has even installed a TV, which plays cartoons, in the dog waiting room to help soothe the animals.
Holmes and her staff offer great rates on services and a referral program for customers.
